“We liked the cottage that much, we have booked agian for November for a week.”

I love the area and the cottage I did,nt want to leave. The only thing we had a problem with was the bed. It could be a bigger and softer bed with no bars plus, if you have 2 children you,ll need to take a stair gate or 2 and if you need highchiars and travel cots you,ll need to take extra as the the cottage only provide one of each and dont provide stiargates. Apart from that it was brilliant.

“This was a fantastic retreat for a week and much needed time to recover and recoup.”

Could have easily stayed another week or two. The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed and set in the peaceful and beautiful landscape of the small holding farm - which guests could fully enjoy. The owners Pippa and Graham were helpful whenever needed and have done a remarkable job to create such a wonderful setting and experience. Plenty to enjoyable local walks and visits to Robin Hoods Bay, the YHA at Boggle Hole, Whitby, Scarborough and Filey. Saw the seals at Ravenscar. Would highly recommend.

“Great location and lovely property, Whitby is about a 15 minute drive, Scarborough a bit nearer.”

We had excellent weather and was lovely to sit outside with the dog and a G&T, the gardens are beautiful. There's quite a few pubs for lunch and dinner neaby but if you like breakfast out then Whitby is excellent. There's a supermarket going towards Scarborough called Proudfoot about a 10 min drive, which has everything great butchery dept. Take plenty of change for car parking although most take card.

Beautiful surrounding. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Great welcoming pack on arrival. Beds and pillows very comfortable and nice fluffy towels. Home from home comfort . unfortunately had to leave early as our dog got sick and had to seek vet and was being sick and started bleeding from her tummy. Ate something toxic possibly plant form but not 100%. Thankyou for a lovely stay

“Swallow Cottage was just what we had hoped.”

It was lovely and welcoming with some delicious Botham’s treats! Very friendly and helpful hosts. The cottage was well equipped with plenty of crockery and cutlery, the internet was the best we have had in a holiday cottage and tv had plenty of apps to watch. There were plenty of walks nearby and the old railway line was perfect for giving the dog a great lead-free walk. Definitely recommend Swallow Cottage.

“If you are looking for peace quiet with wonderful breathtaking scenery this place is for you.”

It is so hard to describe the beauty and tranquillity of the country on the door step. We have been to places before where there is lovely country side a short distance away but this is right there as you step out of the door to the lovely little cottage or even just look out of the windows. The cottage itself is so comfortable, so well equipped and so spotlessly clean. It is warm from the central heating but the log burner is so comforting if the evening is chilly. Great selections of DVDs are there for quiet evenings. A short distance away there are lots of places to visit and great walks. We definitely want to go back, we went in early spring it was beautiful but I am sure there will be beauty all the seasons. Perhaps we will try to get back in autumn.

The furnishings are to high standard. Everything you require is in the cottage and a relaxing place to chill out after a day out in front of a log fire if required. The added bonus of a smart tv to watch a film in the evenings. 10/10 property

As we were going during the winter months one of our main concerns was that the accommodation would be warm enough. We needn't have worried as the central heating was more than addiquate and there was no need to suuppliment the heat with the log burner.

Or travel in your car not very far to Whitby, Ravenscar, Robbin Hoods Bay, the list is endless. Perfect in every way.

The area is a perfect base for day trips to Scarborough, Whitby Goathland etc plus the Cleveland way and the stunning moors are only a five minute drive away or just relax in the garden and take in the views. The only very minor issue we found was the settee didn't offer any back support however this is trivial, we will definitely be returning to this cottage many more times in the future, thankyou Pippa and Graham.

The cottage has everything you could possibly need for your stay and the owner was very helpful in suggesting some locations and tips for parking when visiting Whitby etc. We loved that the cottage is in the middle of many great places to visit, but far enough away to enjoy the quiet and peacefulness of the location. The grounds of the cottage are amazing and we enjoyed that we could take the dog for a trot around the beautiful manicured lawns/fields. We were sad to leave!

Comfortable, warm and with modern appliances and kitchenware. The owners have thought of everything you'll need like a log starter basket, tea and coffee and bath foam. The cottage has a bathroom with height restrictions so no stand up shower but one does cope. The orchard is nice to stroll round and if the weather had been warmer it would have been lovely to sit out.

“MIND YOUR HEAD!”

Beautiful location, fantastic field to exercise our dog, very clean and I can’t fault downstairs. Nice welcome cakes on arrival. However the beams are so low upstairs that we were constantly banging our heads. This should be highlighted on the cottage description. You could not stand up whilst showering in the bath. Also the main picture is slightly miss leading . Swallow cottage is only half of this property.

The scenery round the property was stunning and the cottage itself was lovely and comfortable with everything would would need. The head room upstairs is limited so taller people may find it a little restricted. However being 5.8 this was mostly fine. Easy access to the Cinder Track (only half a mile) for great walks towards Whitby or Scarborough. Both Pippa and Graham were very welcoming with a nice surprise of a selection of cakes on our arrival. Would highly recommend this location.

After a long journey we appreciated the cake and tea that awaited us and the clean and comfortable cottage. We were made to feel extremely welcome and thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautiful cottage in such stunning surroundings. Scarborough, Whitby, Foss Falls, Cinder path track and seals at Ravenscar were all nearby. Perfect place to stay for some relaxation and peace with the added bonus of having everything you need nearby. Our 6ft son managed fine here just had to remember to not stand up too quickly without watching his head and this just made the cottage all the more unique and added to the fun of the holiday! Would highly recommend a stay at swallow cottage.

The owners were very kind, letting our children go into the fields to see their ponies every day and they even got to groom them. Ideal position to see all the local areas and explore the beautiful Jurassic coast. I would definitely recommend this cottage and we would love to return here again very soon.

The Swallows was a converted barn on Hillside Farm with lovely well kept gardens and was really easy to relax. The cottage itself was cleaned to a very high standard and had everything included in the package and all you needed to bring was your food. Pippa and Graham were a fantastic host and obviously knew the whole area but advice they gave was excellent and saved both money and hours looking around for parking places. Situated close to all the Yorkshire resorts it was a first class holiday which did not require us to travel long distances daily. I would recommend the property to anyone with a small family.

It is not far from Scarborough or Whitby if you need anything, yet was isolated enough to have the peace and quiet for a relaxing holiday. An absolutely beautiful area to explore whichever direction you head in. A really cosy cottage on all fronts with the log burning fire being particularly comforting. The beds were clean, fresh and very comfortable. Really cannot say enough to compliment this beautiful cottage; I have already recommended it to two other parties who're looking at visiting the area. Had a fantastic holiday regardless of the very unpredictable weather.

Bursting with character, this Staintondale cottage has exposed timbers, boarded doors and quirky low windows, providing very comfortable, quality accommodation.

The spacious open plan living area of this Staintondale cottage boasts a warming woodburning stove, ideal to relax around on cooler evenings, and a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, whilst upstairs is a pretty double bedroom and a cosy twin.

Outside this Staintondale cottage is a shared lawned area and extensive grounds and fields that guests are welcome to explore and take in the spectacular views.
