    “We had a lovely time at Ryeby Garth.”

    It is a cosy cottage and it was nice to be able to light the fire at the end of a cold day. The hamper of goodies and sweets for kids was a really thoughtful touch too. :)

Take a short taxi journey to The Coach and Horses pub in Welwick with traditional pub food it is a great place to gather with family with a cosy atmosphere, or you may wish to head slightly further and enjoy stunning views across the Humber Estuary at the Crown and Anchor, Kilnsea.

The village of Skeffling is surrounded by beautiful farmland and fields, with many walks available from your doorstep, begin with an easy 5-mile circular route beginning from the village, through public footpaths to Easington, coming down Humber Side Lane and back along the Humber Estuary back up to Skeffling, taking in the country sights and the coastal views as you go.

Pick up any essentials from the village of Patrington, home to two shops and a local bakers and butchers, or just slightly further is the seaside town of Withernsea, with a great selection of amenities and attractions.

Discover the beautiful shingle and sand beach running for miles in both directions, with a friendly promenade boasting fish and chip shops, cafés and pubs, with sailing and windsurfing popular here.

Climb the 144 stairs to the top of Withernsea Lighthouse Museum for stunning views of the coast and countryside, and wander around the museum which is dedicated to one of England's most glamorous movie stars, Kay Kendall, who was born in Withernsea.

Embark on an easy cycle ride out to Spurn National Nature Reserve, a unique long sandy split stretching 3.5 miles into the Humber Estuary, home to a great deal of birdlife, this area is popular for birdwatchers, and home to Spurn Lighthouse which has been excellently restored, take a Spurn Safari aboard a large ex-military vehicle with commentary about the area, a guided walk and a chance to climb the lighthouse.

Visit the vibrant city of Hull, take a step back in time at the Museums Quarter which borders the River Hull, or visit the aquarium.

Once you have finished discovering the City’s history follow the River slightly South where you will arrive at the Marina.

With restaurants and bars lining the dock along nearby Humber Street it is the perfect way to spend an evening out.

For a more relaxed stroll visit the historic market town and civil parish of Beverly, just 15 miles North of Hull known for Beverley Racecourse and North Bar it is a great way to spend the day.

PATRINGTON

The bustling village of Patrington lies on the Holderness Peninsular, a few miles inland from the coast. The village has a good array of amenities catering for all daily needs, including a butchers, bakers, newsagents, small supermarket and traditional local inns. The village is dominated by the huge spire of Patrington Church, known as the Queen of Holderness. Surrounded by open farmland, the area is excellent cycling and walking country and in the spring and autumn, this area is renowned for the migrating birds stopping off to refuel at nearby Spurn Point. A few minutes’ drive from Patrington is the popular seaside resort of Withernsea, with long, sandy beaches, a traditional promenade, children's playgrounds and plenty of delicious fish and chip cafes! The town boasts some historical landmarks, including a lighthouse, now housing a museum, a Napoleonic fortress and a huge nuclear bunker which runs award-winning tours. There are pretty market towns nearby to explore, including Beverley, Driffield and Market Weighton, whilst a little further afield brings you to the larger resorts of Bridlington and Scarborough.
