    “A true home from home we felt content as soon as we arrived.”

    The welcome packs for humans & our dog Penny were much appreciated! Very well equipped kitchen, spacious lounge area with ample seating and the games room was perfect for our teen boys! Upstairs there were plenty of towels and pillows (and beds!) for us to choose from. Some of the mattresses were a little on the ‘soft side’ for our liking hence the 9 out of ten rating but all of the positives and the friendly owners more than outweighed this point we would still highly recommend this ...

Locally you are in an excellent position to explore the area, we visited Pickering, Thirsk, Kirkby Moorside, Whitby & Scarborough in three days. In addition we explored Goathland to climb down to see the waterfall and also Brinham Rocks (NT) to climb up the rocks! We crammed a lot into our time but that is just the beginning of our Yorkshire adventures to come!

An attractive, stone-built, semi-detached Allerston cottage, on a working beef farm, in the village of Allerston between Scarborough and Pickering.

This traditional, characterful Allerston cottage boasts beamed ceilings, exposed timbers and a spacious kitchen.

Two staircases lead to the bedrooms in this Allerston cottage, which can be linked if necessary, whilst downstairs offers a generous living room with concertina doors opening to a games room with pool table, darts and a PlayStation.

This Allerston cottage has a small, enclosed lawned garden and use of a football pitch, plus an unlimited entry pass for one car to Dalby Forest.

This well-equipped Allerston cottage offers simple, comfortable accommodation, and is a great base for the local area; enjoy Scarborough and Filey, explore beautiful countryside, or visit Dalby Forest, with an outdoor pursuit centre, biking trails for all abilities and great walking.

ALLERSTON

Pickering 4 miles; Malton 10 miles; Scarborough 12 miles.

The delightful village of Allerston is situated on the edge of the Forge Valley, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just 4 miles from the market town of Pickering and 12 miles from the seaside resort of Scarborough. The village main street is lined with pretty stone cottages, with a stream meandering down the side into the Derwent River nearby. The surrounding area provides an excellent range of activities, including horse riding, a 9 hole golf course and a children's playground. Dalby Forest, an outdoor adventure area, only 3 miles away, provides cycling trails of varied abilities and ample walking opportunities, whilst the market town of Pickering offers an historic castle, trout fishing and the famous steam railway of the North York Moors. The popular seaside towns of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey offer great sandy beaches, and the usual seaside attractions. A great location for all the family, all year round!
