A lovely small house at the North side of Scarborough and an easy walk to the beach.

We found it very comfortable and well equipped. We would definitely go again.

This cottage suited our needs perfectly, it is in an ideal location a relatively short walk from the beach and within easy listening distance of the openair theatre, we really enjoyed Pete Tong's show while sitting with a glass or two of white wine in the garden.

The secure garden was more than suitable for our dog and due to the excellent weather we had our evening meals in the garden. we appreciated the treat jar for the dog, but not as much as he did. We would love to stay in the cottage again.

A very cosy holiday accommodation,clean with everything you need , North and South Bay within walking distance and dogs can run on beach would recommend.

Quarterdeck is a lovely well maintained property.

It had everything you needed for a holiday. I must mention the bed because it was the best bed I’ve ever slept in. Location was good, it was handy having a small Tesco only a couple of minutes walk away. Plus being only a few minutes walk away from a beach walk. The kitchen was well stocked and there was nice little touches like coffee sachets, jams etc.

The property is in a very quiet location, has generous and convenient 2 parking places and is compact and bijou.

Perfect for 2 and a small dog. The walking is superb as the coast path onwards from Scalby mill pub is a nice walk. The cottage is accessible for walking in Robin Hoods bay , Whitby and Goathland. Scarborough South Bay is a nice stroll along Marine drive if you want more cafes and bars. I had a dog cleanliness issue from previous guests ,that I took up with the owner, so marked down to 4 star and a house maintenance recommendation. This has been corrected for January 2026 I am assured, so subsequent guests won't be affected. I would definitely return here

We enjoyed our stay at Quarterdeck.

Plus points for us are the location and parking. You are within walking distance of North beach, Peasholm Park, the Outdoor Theatre and miniature railway. There is also a small Tesco a 5 minute walk away which was very handy. The property comes with 2 parking spaces at the front with the entrance door being to the side. The property is bijou but adequate for 2 adults and a dog. Overall the property is well equipped and comfortable. It was also clean. The only thing we were not keen on was the dining table which was situated under the stairs and had to be pulled out. It was no big deal to do this but it's really our only negative on the property. In all honesty it was very good vfm.

We had a lovely holiday in a delightful cottage.

Loved the North Bay. Found the way down through the Open Theatre very pleasant but not the climb back up. Easy access to the Whitby bus and Tesco.

Beautiful clean cottage with easy access to the beach.

The kitchen equipment was plentiful and clean. The dog treats provided were a thoughtful touch and appreciated by my dog. The only negative aspects were sleeping arrangements. The thin unlined curtains in the bedroom meant that I was awake at 5am every morning. I also found the mattress very firm and not the best duvet. A lighter summer duvet with extra blankets would be ideal. Nonetheless, I had a fantastic stay.

This was the third time staying at Quarterdeck.

It very clean, comfortable, and dog friendly, it also has all you need for a lovely stay. It's only a 5 minuet walk to the beach, there's a nice pub just round the corner, and a convenience store across the road. Will defiantly stay here again.

Overall our stay was pleasant the floors and stairs were creaky and no clothes prop for the washing line the and it was comfortable and not far from the coast there was a pub just down the road that served good food and also allowed dogs in.

We found the property to be clean and warm but in need of an update.

The 13amp single socket on the landing was loose and needed repair before it could be safely used. As a retired electronics engineer turned latterly to a health and safety inspector I was disappointed to find an electrical outlet in that state. I couldn’t see the point of having a bath with a shower over the bath when the bath taps only fed the shower and wouldn’t fill the bath, why have a bath you couldn’t use unless you wanted to spent an age filling it with the shower. We particularly pick sites with secure outdoor space so we can relax outside with a coffee, my wife has a disability that impacts her walking so we usually stay at the property’s every other day and sit out talking ect. The outdoor space was disgusting. The grass was 13/14cm long and when I checked it I found several places where dogs had been to the toilet. I picked some up but gave up in disgust, if you want pictures I can send you some. The table and two chairs had an ashtray full of water and cigarette ash and stubbed out cigarettes. The neighbours next door even offered the use of their garden for our use because of the state of our space. As a plus point the parking was easily accessed and had ample room for two cars if needed. Overall my view was, although the house was warm and the sleeping arrangements warm and comfortable we would not pick the house again. I will add, but I’m not surprised, this is the first Sykes cottage we have stayed in that had no comments book for customer feed back.

We had a lovely stay again.

But we noticed a few things from last time. There were spiders and cobwebs in the bedroom & cobwebs up high in the bathroom & lounge. The bath taps are loose when you have a shower. The information about bin days needs updating, and we brought DVDs but couldn't use them because the DVD player can't be connected to the television. But overall we had a pleasant stay.

Love this cute little cottage, have stayed several times and looking forward to another stay at Christmas.

Everything you need is there very cosy. Lots of places to visit close by and your own parking is brilliant, bed is so comfy +++++

Perfect for us 2 and our little dog only slight criticism is lawn had not been cut for a while and bushes and hedge out the front could do with a good cut back as made living room very dark.

I have already spoken to owner about the situation at the cottage about the problem with noise from the neighbours .

we had a terrible week as the shouting and arguing went on continually all day and night a horrible week, but both the owner of our property knew about the situation and the owner of the rented house next door and the lack of cleanliness all around the cottage a point that a deep clean had been brought to her attention in January by another guest and still by April the situation had not been addressed. Not acceptable at all.

Quiet little cul-de-sac position perfect location to explore Scarborough and surrounding areas.

Had everything we needed ( except lighter for gas hob ,but managed with microwave until we got one ).Comfy bed and hot powerful shower. I would say maybe could do with a deep clean ( cutlery drawer) and radiators a bit dusty. Cushions on sofas could do with replacing as flat making it difficult to get comfy. Overall as expected for rating and had an enjoyable weekend.

Warm and cosy. Best of all was the location. Only 5 minutes walk to North Bay. Perfect.

Cosy and comfy, a quiet peaceful area .Off road parking space a bonus. Microwave a bit high for me but my husband could reach it ok . Although we have a car the cottage is easily accessible for buses so we had a run round to different places on buses( especially since we had our passes ).

Been a few times to this property Never had any problems Clean.

Another stay at this little gem of a cottage , absolutely loved it again and already booked for next year, everything you need is there and your own private parking a real bonus, the only thing I had a little issue with is the paving flags outside very uneven and tripped over them, I actually met the cleaner she is a lovely friendly lady and had the place spotless again looking forward to our next visit

We have been going to Quarterdeck cottage for many years and have enjoyed our visits and look forward to returning.

It is clean and very comfortable and also close to all amenities.

We have stayed at Quarterdeck a few times, and find the property comfortable , handy for the beach, and near to main roads out or into town.

The cottage was lovely clean and commutable, and the coffee, tea and biscuit was a great touch. Plus the dog biscuit was an extra bonus. The only thing we could have done with was a clock and being able to watch Freeview on the tv. The next time we go to Scarborough we will definitely book Quarterdeck if it's available.

Property clean & tidy, comfortable bed, sofa under window in lounge bit hard, probably due to being a sofa bed.

We absolutely loved our stay at this lovely little cottage.

Both myself and my partner were extremely impressed with how clean and comfortable it was. The enclosed garden was great for our dog and the location of the cottage was super - just a short walk from the beach and other attractions. The little touches in this cottage really made us smile on arrival. A jar of dog biscuits and a selection of tea/coffee/ and biscuits for us made for a warm welcome. The towel rail did come off in the bathroom during our stay but it didn't affect us. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever about our stay. We can't wait to stay here again.

Cottage very nice and had everything you could need.

Unfortunately dog poo not cleared in garden so didn't venture in. Next door, 5, very noisy and on last night still DIY ing at 2.30am, so had to drive home after a poor night's sleep. For this reason we would not return or recommend.

Very lovely property, the tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were a god send after our long journey.

We decided not to use the table so the lap trays were very useful. Very comfortable bed and sofas, a lovely large bathroom and a kitchen with all needed for a relaxing holiday. Wonderful holiday, thank you!

Lovely property very clean and well kept comfortable sofas plenty of cushions to raise the height for us oldies, very nice goodies even Yorkshire Tea bags and chocy biscuits for us and a jar of dog biscuits for Raylee our Maltese.

Found it clean apart from odd cobweb well equipped just lacked a hook on bathroom door to hang dressing gown on whilst taking a shower otherwise ok had a lovely stay bed really comfy and the biscuits milk tea and coffe was a nice touch so you could have a cup of tea on arrival Thankyou for a really enjoyable stay

Property is in a very good location, easy walking distance to the beach & local attractions.

Well stocked mini supermarket nearby. Very comfortable property with convenient enclosed garden. Easily accessible parking area. Our only suggestion would be to have waste bins in the living area & the bedroom.

We have stayed at Quarterdeck cottage for several years and the cottage is always fresh and clean and have ever found any faults with this property We hope to return next year

If the property had been accurately described, we most probably not have booked it.

It was one of 3 properties in a single small building. The space for off road parking, if that is what it was, was somewhat taken over by vegetation, though there was a reserved parking space. The garden area is not attached to the property which is what we thought from the description. More guidance on using some of the appliances would have been helpful.

Perfectly proportioned cottage and its position makes it easy to explore Scarborough and the surrounding areas both in foot and in the car.

It is well presented and in a lovely quiet cul de sac. Would be happy to stay again.

Our second visit to this property , good location, and house well maintained.

This was our fifth visit to this property over several years.

It is a very clean,comfortable and cosy house in a great location ten minutes from the beach with three pubs within ten minutes walk also. Many improvements have been to this property over time, and we will definitely be back again. The only slight negative thing is the uncomfortable settees which seems to be a recurring theme in most reviews, these have been at the property for as long as we have been going and are very tired so could do with being replaced.

We have just had a fantastic week at the Quarterdeck cottage.

The location couldn’t have been any better. 5 mins walk to beach/Pub/Tesco extra/Waterpark. The cottage was very cosy and warm. It looks like there has been a full refurb to a high standard. The kitchen was well stocked with a new cooker. Upstairs bathroom lovely with a brilliant shower. The bed was very comfortable. Great value for money. We would highly recommend you try this cottage. Whilst property was clean, tidy, in good location, what let it down was very uncomfortable sofas, when you are all day walking, its nice to sit down and relax, not to end up with back ache from furniture that should have been replaced years ago, also our double bed was two singles put together, also not very comfortable, wifi was hit and miss, and one toilet roll for two adults for one week is ridiculous, we wont be back for sure.

The property was in a quiet part of Scarborough with amenities close buy with a Tesco extra and pub close bye the walk to the beach was about 15 minutes down the side of the water park.

The only negative was the settee that turned into a bed if required it was very un comfortable to sit on apart from that everything was perfect.

Sofas diabilcally unsafe.

DEFINATELY A HAZARD bum nearly on the floor. Bathroom not been cleaned upon arrival. Garden no lighting. Solar lighting would be good. No way for dogs to see. . Not next to property. Expected to clea whole house before leaving. Vacum made house smell. Upon arrival strong smell of dog urine. Spent money on joss sticks to stem the smell. Possibly wood floor or lino would help with smell. Soft furnishing need cleaning. Awful smelly....maybe owner to spot check cleaners occasionally. We spend extra to have houses cleaned,yes we clean as we do at home,but think it's a check to do thorough deep clean upon leaving as we didn't find this on arrival. 2nd time we booked expected sofas to been replaced. . Plants front garden should be trimmed so front windows can be opened too give fresh air. Some little snag lists to be repaired plugs small fingers can get in. Taps loose etc. Possibly owners to stay clear for weekend to see how it is for clients.

This was our sixth time at Quarterdeck Cottage and we hope we will be back next year it is close to facilities the Cottage is always very clean and and fresh and always lives up to our expectations and would recommend this property to others

Furniture (couch) needs updating

What a lovely house in North bay scarborough, really clean and tidy with a small outside enclosed garden.

The location of the property is amazing a quiet area and only 5 mins. walk to the beach. Plenty of pubs/restaurants close by and very near to the water park and Peasholm park. Would certainly recommend a stay at Quaterdeck and ideal for a couple with a dog.

The house is lovely apart from the settees that have both sadly seen better days.

They both sag tremendously in the middle so much so you need a hand of get yourself up from them. Also the bed is a zip linked and is far too soft you roll into the middle. Sadly I won’t be visiting this accommodation a third time. After my first experience I thought perhaps the owner would change the furniture but alas she hasn’t. So no more for me, pity as I do love to visit Scarborough every year sometimes twice. But not in this accommodation.

The accommodation was spotless and smelt lovely and clean on our arrival any covid fears we had were put to rest with all the precautions that that we could clearly seen had been done, there were plenty of anti bacterial wipes and hand gels for us to use we will definitely return to this property and recommend it to others.

Another lovely stay, second time here, lovely treats left for us and our dog molly enjoyed her treats, plenty of sanitizer left for us to use, really helpful, thank you again xx

The owner of the quarter park where we stayed left the lot and sanitiser for us to use the place was very clean and spotless however me personally I think he could do with a coat of paint and apart from Mark it was lovely

Great for a weekend, but if any longer would need the use of a washer. Just a suggestion.

Lovely cottage in a quiet location, easy walk to the beach.

We enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas all within an easy car journey or a walk into Scarborough We would suggest getting your outside light changed as it is not of any use at present, not bright enough. Although you state enclosed garden it is not enclosed to the property for dogs, you have to go with them to the garden although only a few metres away, our dog could also fit under the gap next to the gate. Overall though a lovely stay in a homely environment and would thoroughly recommend. Thanks for the wine and the dog treats on arrival, a thoughtful touch.

Lovely quite area, private car parking a real bonus, we have already booked again for next year, love the community here met the cleaner on arrival a lovely lady, the cottage was lovely and clean and the wine and dog treats a lovely touch, and the staff at Sykes are very accurate on properties and can not do enough, will not book with anyone else.

Bottle of wine and doggy treat was a welcome surprise. Brilliantly located. Only suggestion would be to have a gate at the bottom of the stairs to stop the dog going upstairs. We had to do a make shift job.

Sykes staff were very helpful when booking and asking questions leading up to our stay.

The cottage was lovely, just what we expected and there was a nice treat waiting for us on arrival (bottle of rose) :-) excellent location and perfect for me my partner, our chocolate lab and golden retriever

What's not to like about this accommodation.

Easy walk to the beach, through quiet grassland, kitchen was exceptionally well appointed. It was a very comfortable and cosy stay, and we are sure to be coming again. Our dog Millie loved it too - thank you, Brian and Wendy

We were very happy with Quqrterdeck, this is the third time we have stayed there.

It is an ideal little house for two for a late Autumn break as it is cosy and comfortable. It is ideally situated for walking to the beach and into Scarborough.

the cottage was handy to the town and the beach but the settee could do with being upgraded as we found it to low and uncomfortable to sit on, the shower could also do with being changed.

We did enjoy our holiday despite the weather.

The place was clean and usable,,,, but a number of improvements could be made :- The picture even on your email and online information is misleading it gives the impression of the place being a bigger place not converted into two small units with side doors.

.. lots of noisy floorboards need fixing Microwave in kitchen needs to be sorted as its dangerous, for two reasons almost fulls of the wall just one screw holding it up and the brackets are all wrong,,, 2nd its to high would be very easy to tip hot contenance over oneself Door of bathroom does not fit. Shower hard to use cannot get to the taps without getting into it, awkward when just doing ones hair etc, table under the stairs is very tight, Would suggest a re think down stairs perhaps remove the wall from the kitchin to the living area remove the two old pull out beds and put some 90 degree nice seating there from the side wall under the window to the kitching side, also placing a table there, the heating could go under the stairs...... a small wishing machine dryer could be fitted under a kitchen unit next to the sink,,, Kind Regards

The property was ideally located a pleasant walk to the North Bay.

We liked the modern compact house it was comfortable well equipped with parking outside. We came to watch the Tour de Yorkshire and it was a perfect sunny weekend

Lovely, comfortable cottage.

Only a five minute walk from the beach. Handy shop at the top of the road (tesco express ). Cottage was very clean and a nice wee easter treat for ourselves and our dog was left for us! Would highly recommend this cottage!
