Beautiful and spacious cottage decorated to a high quality in a very pretty village.

The owners who live next door were very welcoming. 4 invisible step trip hazards on ground floor and one on 1st floor if you are visually impaired or elderly. Great base to visit north yorkshire.

This is a beautiful house with so much room and a wonderful garden!

It was very dog friendly, there were even two dog bowls that they provided. The church is really lovely and there’s lots to do in the surrounding areas. The brownies Amanda baked, that were waiting for us when we arrived were very needed and very tasty! Amanda and John were really helpful and kind, and they are right next door which was lovely! I would definitely recommend to others and will be back again!

Beautiful and spacious cottage.

We loved sitting in the garden room, looking out over the lovely garden. The owners were very helpful. The cottage is an excellent base for trips to the coast - Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby - and gorgeous spots like Hemsley and Hutton Le Hole. The Thai food at the pub - we had takeaway -was delicious. We were a party of 6 adults with a dog and the cottage was perfect for our needs. Highly recommend.

A very spacious and comfortable cottage.

Everything, the fixtures, fitting and furniture are to a high standard. It would be really nit picking to find any fault. The owners were very welcoming and it was reassuring that they were close at hand to be able to ask any questions or deal with any hiccups of which there were none. An extremely enjoyable stay.

Lovely accommodation- lots of room for a family get away.

Made full use of the well equipped kitchen. Lovely and warm and cozy with the log burner. Great location for walking and getting to the coast. Pretty village.

Weavers Cottage has to be the best holiday cottage we have stayed in … it is a beautiful cottage in a great location .

Very nicely decorated and then gorgeous Christmas tree and decorations around the house plus a delicious Christmas cake made by Amanda the host . The cottage has everything you could need and we can’t wait to return . Amanda & John made us more than welcome . We were sad to leave them and the cottage ! Weavers Cottage is a delight, warm, with quirky features, it’s like a home from home.

The setting in the pretty village is superb with good car parking, lots of walks and an enclosed garden for dogs and folk. Our party fitted wonderfully in the ample rooms plus if needed, was the The Old Fire Station at the end of the garden. A great holiday in a beautiful place.

This was our second stay at Weavers cottage.

It is a lovely cottage in a great location for a base from which to explore the beautiful county of Yorkshire. The cottage feels like home from the moment you enter. It is immaculately clean and offers every facility one could need. Shops are a six minute drive away in Stokesley where there’s also a choice of places to eat out or get takeaway including great fish and chips. The hosts live next door, and are welcoming and friendly.

Booked this for our stay in Yorkshire for our son’s wedding at nearby Danby Castle & it was perfect!

Lovely comfortable beds & small gentle steps upstairs which would be ok for anyone who might struggle with stairs so don’t worry. Two lounges & gorgeous large kitchen dinner. The whole house was spotless! Enclosed safe rear garden for our dog which was perfect. I think most others have said about everything. Personal Thankyou to Amanda for helping sort some things before we came. PS would love the choccy brownie cake recipe, soooo yummy.

A superb cottage with friendly, helpful hosts right next door.

Our stay was very enjoyable and we would definitely return to Weavers Cottage in the future.

We had a lovely week with our family, three generations.

A deceptively large cottage, space for everyone, the outside rear garden was enclosed perfect for young children & our dog. We made use of the large gas fired bbq. Our granddaughter loved listening to the 'ding dongs' from the church. Spacious bedrooms comfy beds, lovely bedding & towels, well equipped kitchen. Everything thought of. A good base for days out around the surrounding areas. Highly recommend

The cottage is spacious, tasteful, well-appointed and comfortable to stay in. Having access to a conservatory and enclosed garden added to the relaxing nature of the property. As keen walkers, we found the location to be ideal for exploring the glorious North York Moors and Cleveland Hills. Would be happy to book again.

A very comfortable and well specified cottage full of character and original features.

The owners live next door and were always available if needed but generally just left us to enjoy our stay. Ideal location for exploring North Yorkshire and would definitely book again.

The cottage was beautiful and met our needs perfectly for a group of different ages and a dog.

Amanda and John made us feel very welcome. The area is ideal for visiting the moors and coast, with all in easy reach. We had an amazing stay and will definitely return.

Fantastic holiday, accommodation was perfect with a lovely secure garden for the dogs.

Owners were really friendly and were there to meet us on arrival. Village is stunning and the local pub / Thai restaurant is really high quality. Acts as a great base for exploring from too as close to coast as well as national park. Best uk holiday we've had - thanks!

A very comfortable, spacious, well equipped property, set in a lovely village, surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Ideal for our family reunion of seven of us for the week. More than enough places to visit and walks to make within reasonable driving distances. The perfect weather was the icing on the cake!

Had a great week at Weavers Cottage which was well equipped and suited the needs of the six of us (parents, grown up children and their partners) and our two dogs.

Plenty of space for inter-generational living. Lovely, character cottage in a peaceful, picturesque setting. Carlton-in-Cleveland is a beautiful, tranquil village and a good base for exploration further afield. Enjoyed days out at Saltburn, Richmond and Thirsk. If you're a fan of James Herriot the museum in Thirsk is brill. Stokesley is also lovely and not far away for all basic amenities. Also enjoyed walks up Roseberry Topping and along the Cleveland Way. Would love to return one day.

A beautiful area and a lovely, comfortable and well-equipped cottage.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful and we really can't think of anything negative to say at all. We were busy every day - Carlton Bank, Roseberry Topping, Saltburn, York and Whitby - but feel there was much more to do and see, so hope to return.

The cottage was lovely, spacious and very well appointed.

The homemade cake on arrival was a lovely touch and very much appreciated with a coffee after a 5 hour drive. The hosts were very attentive, on hand at a moments notice for any questions or issues. We would happily stay again if we are back in the area, and highly recommend both the cottage and the location.

What a lovely, comfortable, well equipped cottage.

We loved it, and the hosts (John & Amanda) were friendly, cheerful and helpful. Carlton is a very pretty village with a pub serving excellent Thai food. All the locals we met were chatty and friendly too. It all reminded me why I like Yorkshire so much!

We had a wonderful stay at Weavers Cottage over Easter.

The property was perfect for our family gathering accommodating three generations and a dog! The setting is idyllic and it makes a wonderful base to explore the neighbouring villages, wonderful walks and the beautiful coast. John and Amanda (the owners) were very helpful and we very much appreciated the extra touches and local advice.

A wonderfully presented house, loads of room for everyone, the bedrooms and bathrooms were so spacious.

A very comfortable house to be in, play games, relax, watch films etc but also an excellent base to see so much of North Yorkshire. The nearby beaches were so such a treat being from the middle of the country. We also made sure to visit the local National Trust and English Heritage sites as well as The World of James Herriot. Local towns were a joy too, Whitby is a must and Saltburn-by-the-Sea had a great pier with amusements and excellent scampi. We would most definitely recommend the house to anyone, and the Thai pub down the road!

Lovely village setting and outlook on to the Church. Very comfortable cottage, beautifully done and well equipped. What was also really nice was the relaxed atmosphere - the cottage I had been in the previous week had rules posted everywhere which had been very off putting. Weavers' Cottage did not have this which was most welcome!

Our fourth visit to Weavers Cottage .

We really enjoyed our stay, there is so much to see and do in the area. It’s great to have a lovely comfortable cottage to return to for our annual Yorkshire “fix”. John and Amanda are very welcoming and it’s great to know that you can have tea and homemade chocolate cake on arrival.

Fabulous week at Weaver’s cottage.

This was out third stay at the property and we can’t fault it. Amanda and John have thought of everything so it really feels like a home from home. The homemade cake on arrival is lovely and they provide all the essentials that you need when you first arrive, making it so easy to start relaxing as soon as you get there. Beautiful area with plenty to do for both adults and children. A visit to Saltburn and Whitby is a must. Great area for walking and the scenery around the property is beautiful. The property itself is located in a beautiful, quiet village with a fantastic pub just 2 mins walk away serving really great Thai food. Lots more great pubs within easy driving distance. The property feels cosy and welcoming, although there’s plenty of space to accommodate a group of people. It has always been immaculately clean. It’s so lovely to find such a great property that welcomes dogs. Lots of doggie friendly places and beaches nearby. We couldn’t recommend this property enough. Thank you to Amanda and John for another wonderful stay.

This beautiful cottage felt just like coming home from the minute we walked through the door.

The house was warm with low lighting and soft music playing. The owners had left coffee, tea, sugar, milk and a delicious home baked chocolate cake. All very well received. Amanda and John are perfect hosts who warmly welcomed us on arrival and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you. One thing in particular that I really appreciated was being told there was no need for us to strip the beds before leaving by 10am. That is a huge help when you are packing to leave for a family of five while also trying to make sure the house is left in good condition. We won't hesitate to book again if we are in the area and we can highly recommend Weavers cottage as well. Thank you John and Amanda. x

Hosts could not be more welcoming. The cottage comfortably accommodated 6 adults, 2 youngsters and 3 dogs. It is in a beautiful village setting and within easy reach of lovely towns, beaches, the moors and national trust places. Second visit and still haven't run out of things to do.

Weavers Cottage is a delight.

Its situation is perfect for being central to so many different places to visit, whether it be coastal or Yorkshire Moors. The cottage itself is well resourced, it provides everything you could possibly need. The garden is perfect, and a lovely spot to enjoy a morning coffee. We can wholeheartedly recommend it if you are looking for a peaceful, comfortable place to stay in Yorkshire.

Fab location with countryside walking from the door and a half an hours drive takes you to the coast. So much to do in the area or if you just want to relax lots of space in the house and a lovely garden with beautiful views.

Plenty to do on your doorstep. The hosts were very hospitable and generous with supply of chocolate cake and Easter egg! Couldn't have been more helpful, even when to muddy dogs returned from a long walk!

Beautifully furnished cottage in a great location.

Perfect setting off point for visiting the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the coast. Very spacious interior, with all that we required. Great to have a plentiful supply of wood for the wood burners. Warm and cosy cottage with very attentive and welcoming hosts. Highly recommend the local pub, the Blackwell Ox. Great range of real ales. We ate in and also used their takeaway service. Excellent Thai food.

Wonderful stay with attentive hosts and a very nice cottage.

John and Amanda were great hosts and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property as it’s perfectly situated for all the sites around to visit and it’s probably one the best places we have ever stayed in through Sykes.

It was a fantastic place to relax and enjoy a much needed break. Thank you for the delicious homemade cake that awaited us on arrival, it was a lovely. We definitely hope to return in the future.

The interiors and decor are the best we have ever experienced in a Sykes booking. Above all of this the level of hospitality and the genuine welcome from Amanda and John makes Weavers Cottage a favourite you will want to keep returning to. We are already looking forward to celebrating Christmas 2022 at Weavers Cottage.

Weavers Cottage is very comfortable and finished to a high standard.

It is located in a charming village, with great walks & a pub that does excellent meals. Our Hosts, John & Amanda were on hand to greet us and give us an overview of the house & area. Beautiful unspoilt countryside on the North Yorks Moors with some wonderful views and within reasonable drive of the coast, with great places to visit along the coast between Saltburn & Whitby - and of course great fish & chips! Just to keep the thread going from previous reviews, we can confirm Amanda's home made cake was excellent, and didn't last long at all - a really nice touch :-) Thank you!

Perfect family home for 4 adults 2 children and 2 dogs

Weaver Cottage is absolutely beautiful.

It is superbly equipped and everything is finished to a high standard. The owners live next door and could not be more attentive, friendly and helpful. This was a wonderful location for our long awaited post lockdown family reunion. We could not have wished for a better holiday and we were all sad to leave.

John & Amanda were fantastic hosts who whilst informative and very accommodating left us to enjoy our break.

Went the extra mile with providing additional toys for the wee one and an unforgettable extra for myself when they brought a big boys toy around in the shape of a classic car, won't spoil it in case anything else is as lucky. Thanks guys really enjoyed our time in your lovely cottage Ian, Fiona & gang

Well equipped and the decor was awesome. Beds very very comfy. The owners were lovely and understanding. They gave our party tips on where to walk etc. Our holiday was the chilled break we all needed after this past 18 months. Would highly recommend

This is our second stay at Weavers Cottage .

We arrived to a lovely warm greeting from Amanda and John . The cottage was just as we remembered and with a fab chocolate cake waiting for us and the kettle on we very quickly settled into our holiday . Great location lots to see and do and what is nice is even when the weather wasn’t great we were very happy to relax in the cottage . Weavers Cottage is fast becoming an annual family favourite .

One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in; spacious, beautifully decorated, furnished and dressed.

It had everything we could have wanted and more. The ‘little’ extras were welcomed; chocolate cake, milk, toiletries, washing tablets etc. etc. etc.... Wonderful hosts, beautiful setting and well worth a visit to this area - so much to do - a great stay all round.

The property was better than we expected and from start to finish, the owners John and Amanda did an incredible job as hosts to make our holiday extra special. There aftercare as well has been brilliant! We received a lovely welcome e-mail ahead of our stay with tips for travel and some local area advice, upon arrival we were warmly welcomed, the house was spotlessly clean with added precautions to stay Covid safe and throughout our holiday Amanda and John were there without being there to make sure we got the best out of your stay and visit to North Yorkshire. The property itself is equipped with everything you could need, it's been very well maintained and no corners cut. Two large reception rooms can accommodate the biggest families, there's a wonderful snug and sitting room, the orangery is perfect for rainy days, it's warm and feels outdoor - the garden is beautiful with a lovely vista and there's plenty of space to entertain and enjoy dining outside. We all enjoyed a very comfortable week, the beds and linen were fantastic!

The accommodation was clean and comfortable.

There was enough room for the 8 of us. The facilities and accessories exceeded our expectations. The garden was private and quiet. The owners John and Amanda who live next door we’re so friendly and welcoming and understanding. The village was a delight with a lovely pub. The cottage is well located for visits to the coast and lovely local villages. I would recommend this accommodation and would be happy to stay there again

Weavers cottage is set in a very scenic area of North Yorkshire in a village called Carlton in Cleveland and it certainly met all our expectations.

John and Amanda were very welcoming and extremely helpful. The cottage was immaculate and the garden was an added bonus. The welcome pack was very much appreciated especially Amanda's chocolate cake

Wow!

We have just returned from a week at Weavers Cottage and it was superb. The communication before hand was brilliant and John and Amanda went the extra mile for us and booked a table at the local Thai restaurant as we were finding it hard to get through. The cottage itself was the best we have stayed in and all 7 of us from Grandparents to Grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed it. It was spotlessly clean, very well equipped they have thought of everything. The enclosed garden was great for our two dogs. Thank you so much we would love to return soon and by the way the cake was delicious!

It is light and airy, yet very cosy and private. It is immaculately presented and very well equipped for an extremely comfortable and relaxed break.
