“It was a lovely comfy cosy cottage.”

The welcome pack was greatly appreciated, especially the coffee as we forgot to bring some! The enclosed garden was great for the dog to stretch her legs on a morning. We went to the beach they was recommended and had an amazing time, we’ll definitely be back!

The property

Located in the village of Sleights, a few miles from the bustling seaside town of Whitby, is this charming semi-detached, stone-built property, Eskside Cottage.

Entering the property, be welcomed into a large open-plan living space with solid oak floors, which has been fully renovated into a welcoming holiday home for families, friends or two couples.

Look forward to unwinding on the sofas and let the woodburning stove provide that extra bit of warmth during those chillier winter months whilst you enjoy a family movie night on the TV with internet-enabled set top box.

This room also benefits from a dining area for four guests, which is the ideal sociable space for catching up on the day's activities.

Walk through to the kitchen which has all cream fitted units and sleek oak worktops with a rustic Belfast sink and charming hand painted tiles of local scenes.

All the necessary appliances are provided for cooking up some delicious meals, as well as a handy dishwasher and washer/dryer.

The first floor hosts two well-presented bedrooms, set up as a king-size and a double.

Enjoy spectacular views over the Esk Valley from the king-size bedroom, which has zip and link features so can easily accommodate all types of guests.

A cot, highchair and stairgates are available on request to make your family trip comfortable, however young our guests may be.

The cot will fit in both the double room and the king sized room, when not split into two singles.

There is a family bathroom with an elegant bath and shower over so you can enjoy a long soak at the end of a tiring day.

To the side is an enclosed garden area with lawn and patio areas and is ideal for taking your morning cup of coffee and indulging in a good book whilst the sun rises.

The village of Sleights is perfectly placed within reach of the bustling town centre of Whitby which has a wide-range of tourist attractions you must visit.

Located in the North York Moors National Park and on the fringes of the Esk Valley, you can enjoy some long walks, hiking and cycling through the beautiful countryside before relaxing in one of the villages pubs, or having dinner in the nearby fish and chip shop.

Travel into Whitby town centre and make sure you visit the historic Captain Cook Museum which comes with many displays detailing Cook's voyages across the sea.

If you're a fan of historical architecture and literature, the 7th century Whitby Abbey is the perfect place for you to visit as it holds a wealth of history and was the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula.

You can access the abbey via the 199 steps and race your loved ones to the top where you will benefit from stunning views across the town.

Eskside Cottage is the ultimate choice for a rural break to the coastline.
