“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chalet 1 on the Snooty fox site.”
It was a little confusing on arrival as it wasn't clear where we needed to go to find the chalet however another guest pointed us in the right direction.
The chalet was clean and had ample amenities. We were provided with a kettle, microwave, toaster, cutlery for two, a tin bottle opener, bin bags and a dustpan and brush. There was also washing up liquid, tea and coffee, hand wash and hand cream and a tea towel which was great. The fridge was very small, a two pint of milk couldn't stand upright, and were it not for the fact we visited in January and could chill stuff outside it would have been a real pain. The staff provided plenty of towels and even brought us some fresh ones during our stay. The room was warm and the TV had freeview. The wifi wasn't great, however our phone signal was good. We could have done with some coat pegs as we had to put coats on the chair. I also struggled to find the bins to dispose of our rubbish and didn't see any recycling stations, this could have been an oversight but the lack of recycling was disappointing.
The hot tub was clean, maintained and within a private area which was a really nice touch as you didn't feel overlooked.
The site was well kept but quite empty and the bar was only open Fri-Sun. The location was good for catching a bus to Scarborough which out of season was only £2 for a single ticket and came hourly. There was a lovely pub which served hearty, well cooked and delicious meals in West Heslerston which is just 5 minutes drive down the road.
Overall we had a great stay and would recommend the site for a short break for adults.
Thank you for your detailed feedback.
We have tried providing recycling facilities, unfortunately these were not used as intended causing us an issue with our service provider!
