Stag Cottage at Broadings Farm

This was the perfect place to stay when exploring Whitby and surrounding area.

Everything about the cottage was spot on - very clean and comfortable, well maintained and finished to a very high standard. We’ve been coming to Whitby for many years and Stag Cottage is by far the best place we’ve ever stayed in. Thank you for a fantastic place to stay - we’ve already decided to book it again for next year!

The cottage was amazing, clean, tidy and just immaculate.

If we could have taken the cottage home, in full we would. Honestly it was beautiful, comfy and fantastic for doggies. Near everything Whitby and surrounding area Honestly guys you need to stay here if your wanting to stay in or nr Whitby

Wow, what a fantastic cottage, we were stunned as we opened the door on arrival.

The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The property certainly is a gem. Whitby is little over a mile away. We would certainly recommend staying and hope to return one day ourselves.

As returning guests to Stag Cottage we again had a great stay.

An excellent, modern property well located just minutes drive from the harbour of Whitby and the Abbey. Excellent for exploring the coast taking in Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hoods Bay.

Stag cottage was spacious, clean and comfortable.

Our dog enjoyed the dog walking fields available, the grass area of the garden was also good for her to wander outside. There was everything we needed, nice shower, comfy bed. Thank you we would come again.

Stag cottage, oh my word, it is absolutely stunning, it’s even more beautiful than the pictures, great little garden for dogs to run around in and secure, underfloor heating , everything was just so perfect, I can’t recommend enough, first year spending Xmas away and this just made it all the more special.

Loved it so much I booked Lottie’s cottage for next December, the only negative I would say is that the lady at Sykes said download the Bloom app and you will get £40 off of your next booking, wow, booked Lottie’s cottage on 27th December, only discount given by Bloom was £10, then received an email from Sykes 2 days later on the 29th with £40 off, rang Sykes, they can’t amend, I’m sure they could so this left me very, very disappointed. Cannot fault Stag Cottage at all, worthy of more than 5 stars, highly recommend.

We have visited Stag Cottage a number of times now and have always found the accommodation of a high standard, clean, warm and welcoming.

It was the same this year, however it is beginning to look a little tired in places. The proximity of the cottage to the main road and position in the entrance of the campsite have always put us off considering a Summer stay but the fact that a further building is being erected right alongside the garden has added to that impression. It would have been nice to have been forewarned about the construction work going on during our stay.

This was our 3rd time staying at Stag Cottage and it was as wonderful as always!

We’ve also stayed in the adjoining property Abbey View once too-equally lovely! Everywhere was spotlessly clean and fresh. The underfloor heating makes the place so warm and cosy. It’s a fabulous location, particularly with a dog as there are walks nearby and fields to walk in. Great location for Whitby and the surrounding areas. Cannot recommend enough-we’ll be back next year for another fab week.

Lovely accommodation,great en-suite bathrooms,especially if you are elderly.

Great kitchen,easy to use dishwasher and washing machine. Could do with more crockery, I.e. more plates and dishes. Would recommend this cottage to anyone. Melanie Ashurst

This lovely cottage was just what we needed with our two dogs.

High standard accommodation. Excellent home for the week and near everything we wanted to see. Would highly recommend this place. Loved it.

We throughly enjoyed our stay Stag Cottage, location was perfect and to return back after our lovely days out and long walks was extremely cosy and comfortable place to relax.

In terms of description, I would recommend that the Washing Machine and Dishwasher are included. Our only criticism is that if you have small dogs, these could easily get through the gaps in the gate, otherwise garden is fully enclosed.

Cottage is amazing and we had a great holiday as it is central to a lot of places to visit -our only issue and this is so small is there was 4 of us very limited knifes and forks but would definitely recommend

Spent the first week of June in the stunning Stag cottage.

It certainly has the wow factor. Spacious, modern, well equipped and under floor heating throughout. The 2 bedrooms both with en suite accommodated us perfectly. My elderly mother was delighted to have her own bedroom with private bathroom. Our 2 small dogs settled well and enjoyed looking out through large patio doors onto the garden. Had a fantastic holiday and a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Will definitely be booking Stag Cottage again.

A beautiful cottage in a perfect location ,everything you need , furnishings are good quality, love the private drive .

This was our third stay and we will be back .

We did enjoy our stay.

However after returning after a few years to find the same old very tired plates and dishes all mis matched , can opener still broken , could do with some high dusting loads of cobwebs and dust up on beams. No cleaning products left at all yet we got an email saying to clean the cottage out, we always leave the premises how we find them, wet floor mop had been put away in the cupboard causing a foul smell and mould on the sweeping brush . It is a beautiful cottage but needs some TLC .

Fantastic location just on the edge of Whitby.

Cottage was 5 star but could benefit from a couple of side tables in the living area and a wooden chopping board for use in the kitchen. Just a short walk from the centre of Whitby and within an easy drive of local attractions.

Great place to stay the cottage is very warm and cosy it as everything you need for your stay.

Whitby town is only a mile down the road,this was the 3rd time we stayed here.

This was our third stay at Stag Cottage (plus one stay at Abbey View next door!

). We love the location and the comfort which this property offers. Close to Whitby and a great base for exploring the local coastline. The cottage itself is just perfect-everything you need for a wonderful stay! The king size bed is super comfy and the large walk in shower is fabulous! The underfloor heating system takes a little getting used to as it takes a while to cool down once heated-but it keeps the place so warm and cosy. We will definitely be back-5 stars all the way-just deciding which week for next year!

Lovely clean cottage, everything was as the description.

Definitely room for two cars and the gate shut making it perfect for the dogs too. Lovely clean site to walk around (lots of fields to walk the dogs in). It’s is on a very busy main road and the traffic could be heard but nothing too bad. You could walk into Whitby if you wanted too. Nice restaurant at the end of the road The Stables and the Park and Ride is there too. Only thing that was a shame was that there wasn’t any or very little matching crockery, but there was enough for everyone. We loved it and would definitely recommend. Heating system was great in fact when we arrived it was too hot and had to turn it down/off. Maybe a fan could be provided for the bedrooms? An outstanding property which we would return too.

The only reason we marked comfort down was because the mattress was too soft for me but okay for my wife also we found the toilet was too low we both have arthritis so it did make it worse

Excellent cottage in a great location.

Very clean. Secure garden for the dogs and some great fields for them to have a run around in. Only thing they need to sort out is the mixture of dishes / plates / bowls, nothing matched and not enough of them or cutlery. We had read this in previous reviews so took some of our own but think this needs looking at.

Beautiful property, nice size for four people and two dogs.

We'll equipped, nice to have a washing machine for mid week laundry. Beds are so comfortable and the showers are the best.

We loved stag cottage everything was perfect.

The weather was fantastic too. This was the ideal place to stay with only a mile walk into the town. The fields for the dog walks were lovely too. We are already looking at coming back here. We also had a lovely welcome pack on arrival. Wish we had booked two weeks now.

The cottage is spacious and comfortable, and in a good locality for visiting Whitby on foot or by using the Park & Ride bus which is close by.

Although close to the main road the cottage was perfectly quiet inside. It was well equipped except could do with more glasses and cutlery. We managed ok but it could be a problem for 4 guests. Matching crockery would be good too. The mattress in the main bedroom was comfortable but is only king size, not superking as advertised which was a little disappointing. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and will probably book again at some time.

We had a lovely week in a lovely location, which was close to Whitby,Scarborough and the North York Moors.

Lovely place to stay , generally comfortable and beautiful surroundings , perfectly placed for Whitby and surrounding areas.

Only niggles were the door to bedroom which catches on the floor , mismatching crockery and only 4 sets of cutlery. An occasional smell coming from bathroom into main bedroom . However we really enjoyed our stay and we would absolutely return for another weekend away

Absolutely amazing accommodation so clean, thought of everything and very welcoming.

Suggestion to put some hooks up as u come in the cottage for wet coats. Other than that would 100% recommend and come back. Thank you.

It's the second time I've stayed at Broadings farm and certainly won't be my last. Look forward to staying here for many years to come.

Stag Cottage was just perfect for a winter break and we have already booked again for December next year.

Attractive, clean, comfortable and cosy warm. We had not picked up on the cottage's position, just off the campsite entrance close to the main road, before booking but can honestly say we were not disturbed by traffic, especially as the campsite was closed when we visited and the cottage well soundproofed.

This was our second stay at Stag Cottage-we absolutely love it!

From the minute you walk through the door you feel calm with a real homely feeling. We love the open plan layout of the kitchen and lounge and the enclosed garden and drive are perfect additions. The underfloor heating is fabulous-makes the cottage so cosy. We love the location-gorgeous surroundings with perfect views and walks for the dog and close to Whitby and easy access to all the surrounding areas-it really is perfect for a lovely week away-we couldn’t recommend it more and will be booking again for next year!

The location and standard of accommodation are both first class.

We spent six nights there and found it suited our needs. We were able to walk to Whitby and there are many attractions within easy driving distance.

As usual super clean well maintained property we have stayed in both cottages and both have been a very enjoyable experience.

No expense has been spared on the building and internal fittings. I could live permanently in Stag cottage. Lovely home. Would say needs more crockery as the dishwasher has to be put on daily with the limited amount supplied. Otherwise perfect Holiday home.

We absolutely loved Stag cottage and would readily return.

The seperate en-suite bedrooms were absolutely perfect when you have two teenage boys with you! I only have a couple of slight negatives. Listing is described as having fridge and freezer but there are actually two fridges. Not a problem but thought I would point out. There is not a lot of point in having a dishwasher when there are only 4 sets of crockery. Again not an issue with us but I guess some people would rather not wash up by hand every day when on holiday. Nothing the owners can do, but the main road is VERY busy. The noise did not bother us in the slightest but walking down to the shop or into Whitby is a bit hairy with no real pavement just a bumpy track at the side of the road. As I say none of these had any real impact on our enjoyment and I would definitely look to come back in the future. Oh, one last thing. As per previous reviews, the tin opener does not work so I left a new one behind!

The cottage is beautiful with everything you need.

It is comfortable and clean. The beds are comfortable and the shower in the main bedroom was amazing. The location is excellent with some fantastic dog walking areas. Close to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Gothland (Heartbeat land). I have already recommended the cottage to friends and family and would definitely return. The only thing I would say is if you have a small dog, it would be able to get through the gate and Stag cottage is near a very busy road.

Lovely cottage but the smell from the bathroom, drains not every day but was very bad couldnt sleep in the main room because of it

We had a great stay at stag cottage.

The property was comfy and decorated beautifully. It was very clean and had everything you could possibly need, all in good working order too. We picked this property due to being on one level for my disabled mother and had the walk in shower which she enjoyed. The property was situated in the perfect location for where and what we wanted to visit. I did read a few reviews regarding road noise which we were worried about but can honestly say we didnt notice it! We would highly reccomend, thank you for a wonderful stay!

Superbly presented property ideally situated for visiting Whitby and the North York Moors.

The main road was a bit noisy outside but the cottage was well insulated against sound.The equipment provided in the cottage was good quality and everything you would need for self catering. Bonus was a good fish and chip cafe just up the road!

The cottage was perfect with lovely views, the location was just right for getting to places.

Just a few little tweeks Hairdryer More coat hooks Something to stop the single bed sliding across the floor, when leaning against it and I nearly fell.

We were slightly disappointed that the picnic table and seat had been removed from the front of the property.

We could have done with this when cleaning muddy boots and paws. There were certain areas of the property that could have been cleaner. Could do with TV and extra bed side table in the main bedroom. Otherwise the property is in a great location for exploring Whitby, like the Garden Centre at the top of the road. The cottage is well stocked with cutlery etc, except could do with pint glasses. Love the fact that there are two bathrooms. Shower was really enjoyable. We had a really great time and would definitely book again. We left an item of clothing behind and Broadings Farm rang us to confirm they will post it back to us

Absolutely beautiful cottage we had a lovely 4 night break stoping here, the owners have thought of everything.

Very relaxing, very Cozy, beds comfortable. A great central point to other areas. We will definitely be stopping here again

Cottage was absolutely beautiful and one of the best i have ever stayed at.

The layout was perfect. Standard of equipment was excellent. Furnishings were beautiful. Beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were brilliant. One of the best showers I have ever been in. The view from the property was beautiful. I could easily have lived in there. We had a really lovely holiday and i would highly recommend.

We’ve stayed at Abbey View previously and will definitely be back to Broadings again. The cottage throughout is immaculately clean and so well equipped with everything you need for a truly relaxing and enjoyable stay. The enclosed garden is perfect for the dog too. The large walk in shower in the master bedroom was wonderful-great to have the option of a bath or shower in each en-suite. The on-site gated parking is great too. The cottage is ideally situated for Whitby town or other nearby locations such as Sandsend, Staithes, Runswick Bay, Saltburn-By-The-Sea and Robin Hood’s Bay. Cannot recommend enough.

Beautiful cottage, lovely place to stay.

We have been here the last 2 years and will be going back a third time. You can’t fault it there’s everything you need, it’s like being at home with all the comforts .

This is the best dog friendly house we have stayed in.

Spacious, comfortable quality furniture. Comfy beds and sofa which is very important when you're there for a week. Very warm and cosy with underfloor heating. Brilliant enclosed garden for the dogs. Ideally situated for Whitby and surrounding areas. Lots of dog friendly pub/eating options within a short drive. We had a great week and are planning to return soon.

this is our second visit to stag cottage and it did not let us down a stunning holiday let in a perfect position for whitby and nearby coastal towns.

your property was warm comfortable and decorated to a very high standard we loved it and im sure we will be back for another stay sometime. steve & cath from sheffield. ps we did find bedroom door sticking a little as it opend about halfway and door below oven was abit loose hope you dont mind me mentioning this. all in all a great stay well done to your team.

Had to move out of the bedroom with the double bed in it because of the smell of sewage or blocked drains(noticed on previous feedbacks several occupants have had the same problem) you would have thought it would have been resolved by now, this is not good enough for Sykes and the amount it cost for a week.

A pair of oven gloves are required for taking hot plates etc.out of oven and microwave. Road noise was only bearable. Toilet rolls the the cheapest and thinest you can buy.

It is next to a busy road ( didn't bother us). Did have a problem with a nasty smell from the main shower..owner came out readily and fingers crossed he gets it sorted ASAP. Great dog friendly garden and big field for exercise.Park and ride just up the road, saves taking car into town.Would happily book again.

The property was really comfortable with everything as it had been advertised.

The only improvement would be to have another small cabinet on the other side of the bed in the main bedroom.

Well decorated comfortable cottage.

In terms of location close to a convenience store, Spar, and about 1km to get onto the Cinder Track which is great for walking and runs from Whitby to Scarborough with lots of places to pop up. There are 2 reasons we have deducted a star. The first is lack of welcome pack - a couple of tea bags and a pack of biscuits. The second is the fact that it is so close to a very busy A class road making it very noisy to sleep.

A lovely cottage in a perfect location,just down the road from the park & ride,beautiful views of the harbour and the abbey but situated away from the town centre making it a peaceful place.

Just one or two negatives regarding the cottage,although the main bathroom was lovely,the shower did smell of stagnated water on a few occasions.I would recommend equipping the cottage with a hairdryer,a tumble dryer( or a clothes horse to dry clothes indoors on a rainy day) ,another bedside cabinet in the main bedroom and maybe a few board games. This would not put us off staying here again as they are minor niggles that did not spoil our enjoyable stay.

Excellent stay - a bit more crockery, cutlery and glasses would be our only very small suggestion for improvement.

Overall an excellent stay in outstanding accommodation (bathrooms in particular were superb).

Cottage was lovely.

Modern decor, very comfortable beds. Washing machine, clothes line, pegs, iron and ironing board also provided (this wasn't mentioned in advert spec). Appliances were of good quality, though kitchen tap was a bit loose. Bathrooms were of a luxury standard although the main en suite smelled quite musty. My dog is a Westie and gate was secure enough to keep him in the garden. There are 2 massive dog walking fields, 1 minute walk away within the campsite which was brilliant. Fair bit of road noise from the main road although after a couple of days we barely noticed it. Lovely cottage with good facilities. Lidls 5 min drive away. Spar 10 minute walk away and Whitby was a 30 min walk away with a slow coach dog. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt totally at home in the cottage.

This is a lovely comfortable property with easy access and good parking.

However the cleanliness let it down I had to hoover on arrival due to several areas where dog’s hair had accumulated and just been left. We were also not prepared for the traffic noise which continued late into the night.

A wonderful cottage but the flush system on both toilets,particularly the main bedroom en suite really needs changing as it didn’t work at all well Your plumber visited at our request but said there wasn’t much he could do short of completely changing it Given everything is pretty new the makers need to be told of a very poor design

Beautiful well presented home from home cottage, thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and so did our 14 year old Springer Spaniel "Fenn".

Would definitely recommend and hopefully will return in the future. Thankyou.

We have already recommended it to all our friends and family although we would really love to keep it as our secret.

Great cottage secure for both children and pets.

Easy to get everywhere. Would recommend a matching dinner set of 6 as rest of cottage is beautiful so you’ve got spare plates.Only down side was my little legs wouldn’t touch floor on your humongous settee lol would defo stay again.

Very comfortable large bed and modern en-suite bathroom. Couldn’t fault the property at all . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already looking to book for next year . We would highly recommend this property.

My only disappointment with the Stag cottage was that the garden wasn’t secure my small Dachshund doggie escape once heading straight to the main road, which is nearby the cottage.

Unfortunately you see if you don’t have a car it’s A taxi every time, you want to go out ,we had to walk down near this main road which didn’t have a footpath, even though it was only a short walk; it was pretty treacherous and scary with No footpath... Otherwise, everything was just perfect attentional to detail had been carefully thought about. And I would stay again without a shadow of a doubt, Love love loved my stay at the stag cottage.

This was a lovely place to stay, large, bright, airy living space and comfortable beds.

It is ideally situated within walking distance of Whitby and had a good, properly enclosed area with grass for the dogs. This accommodation would be perfect if it were not for a slight lack of attention to detail, cobwebs in some of the rooms, a broken washing up bowl and a dirty splash back behind the sink and a feeling of meanness. There was only one roll of toilet paper (and not even a whole one) provided to share between two bathrooms, there was no washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets provided. I do not expect to pay £500 to stay for a weekend and have to bring my own loo roll! Otherwise it was one of the loveliest places we have stayed.

Had a fabulous stay at stag cottage and very convenient for Whitby and surrounding area.

Very small gripe - dishwasher but no dishwasher tablets. Also found it difficult to find the cottage at night and slightly dangerous with only one gate open to drive into the yard.Would suggest having some lights at the gate entrance along with illuminated sign. Would stay again.

A great cottage with lovely furnishings and everything you could need (including an oven glove!

). Its a lovely distance from Whitby, walkable if you see fit. Lovely for the dogs too and a great sunrise view.

Amazing one of the best cottages I have stayed in !

! I would stay again ! Everything you need has been added to the cottage. ! I love the fact the dogs and small children can play in the garden and can’t escape! I would say the only thing that’s missing is a log burner but I can understand why there isn’t one ! I can’t explain how amazing it is , feels like your at home .

Stag cottage was lovely very new and modern Bosch appliances,duvets and linen were high quality,the 2 x ensuites both had baths and walk in showers views of whitby abbey in the distance 1 mile downhill into whitby.

We really enjoyed our week there snd would def recommend .

Very comfortable, parking and garden were helpful especially with my 2 dogs.

The kitchen was really well equipped and everything needed was there. Very good location to visit all the local places of interest.
