“Very compact comfy, warm and welcoming apartment.”

Great situation for easy and quick access to the beach. Beautiful welcome pack and treats for your pooch. Mary, the owner is such a lovely and kind lady and so accommodating. You couldn't want for more.

“RIdgeway is one of the nicest properties I have stayed in and I spent a very comfortable week there.”

It has been carefully and attractively designed to include everything you could need from cooking facilities to central heating and a rain shower. I also received an amazing welcome package with prosecco, strawberries and cream The location is good being two minutes walk from the seafront and an easy walk to the harbour and town centre. I would definitely stay again

“Lovely apartment, very clean and tidy,very well equipment.”

The bathroom is very small with the position of toilet awkward. The only thing separating the bedroom and bathroom is a short thin shower curtain. Location of apartment is great.

“This was a perfect spot for a weekend by the sea for just me and my small dog.”

The apartment is attractive and very well fitted out with everything you could need. It is in an excellent location, only minutes walk round the corner from South Bay. The off street parking right outside, was a bonus and there were little thoughtful touches and a very generous welcome pack. I will certainly be back.

“This is exactly as described a perfect break away in a lovely dwelling with all we could wish for.”

just a stroll from the beach which we went to every day, the bed was so comfi we slept well and the appratment was so clean with all mod cons, lovely welcome pack from Mary our host. you must vist the model village and the animal park great days out, we did'nt eat out no need all shops in easy reach and all we needed at our appartment to enjoy a well cooked meal, very quiet area and lovely beach to stroll down thank you to our host Mary for a well needed break away from our busy lives it was perfect we love Bridlington and we will be back best wishes Janet and Dave Whittingham x

“The little studio was great and in a nice area close to the beach for walking the dog.”

The property had everything you needed and was very clean you was even supplied with a welcome pack which even included something for the dog which was a lovely treat, Mary the owner was very friendly and nice not forgetting Charlie too lol Great stay would highly recommend ++++

“On arrival the properties hard surfaces appeared clean, and kitchen area very well equipped.”

As non smokers and not pet owners, there was a distinct smell of dog combined with stale cigarette smoke, which persisted throughout our stay, despite attempts to mask the smell with air fresheners, left by owners. We brushed the rug in the lounge area of the studio, to reveal a quantity of dog hairs left by previous guest. The knee room allowed when seated on toilet in usual way was just about enough for the smaller guest (5ft2"), but not enough for a taller person.

“Property much smaller than appeared on photos.”

Bed against wall on left side. Only curtain to separate bathroom and had to sit sideways on toilet. Dishwasher not been emptied and freezer full of ice and still had food wedged in - had to defrost it ourselves before we could use it.

“A cracking little holiday base, everything you could need, my only reservation is the bathroom, I’m 6ft and 14st and it was a bit snug.”

Beautiful beach 2 minutes away, would definitely go again, in fact we intend to in July. Thanks Mary ( our host ) we had a wonderful visit.

“Mary was very welcoming and Charlie the westie is adorable.”

...I found the property small and compact .storagespace was limited .ideal for one woman and her dog. But would have been a squeeze with two adults. A security gate was in place over the front door but I did not realise that there was no secure area to let my dog run in as it led directly onto the street. Ample room to park my car off road . Bonus that you are two minutes walk from miles of dog friendly beach.

“Booked for my parents.”

Owner was friendly. Location was good. Property was not clean. Smell of smoke. Very small, had to sit on the toilet sideways. Overall not a good experience and would not return. Cleanliness been a major issue.

Thank you for your comments I apologise that there was a smoking smell which has now been removed. Guests are not allowed to smoke in the property and there is a table and chairs outside for smoking guests which is used for this purpose. I am on call for any concerns you may have and my goal is to remedy any concerns immediately. “This little property is very well equipped with everything provided.”

Although we only had a 3 night stay we received a lovely welcome pack that included a bottle of red wine, snacks, biscuits chocolates and milk in the fridge. Just around the corner from the beach which suited our dog down to the ground. Great fun clambering across the bed as you only get out one side and it does creak. Lovely hot shower, all in all a very comfortable stay.

“Lovely little chalet, well decorated, everything you need kitchen wise, lovely welcome pack, really thoughtful.”

However because of the size there have had to be some compromises and unfortunately these are detrimental. The bathroom, described as walkin and that's about all you can do. You cannot sit on the toilet properly as there is no room, the seat is a couple of inches from the facing wall, you have to sit on it sideways. The bed which is a good size is pushed against a wall, as a result you have to climb over your partner to go to the loo. The mattress is very very soft, which led me to have a very uncomfortable nights sleep. A shame really, but not for us.

“This is a lovely, small chalet type place.”

It suits a couple and 1 pet. Clean with all amenities (wifi, microwave, dishwasher etc) Great location for long walks on the beach and off road parking which is a must in Bridlington. Only thing is the boiler is in the main house, and this broke so we had no hot water. The wifi was also a bit hit n miss. But we walked for miles, had fish n chips and some lovely days out! Would recommend for a long weekend with your dog!

A guest in the main house had tampered with the boiler and informed me after tea. I arranged for the plumber that evening to call out and fix it and he came the next morning to reset the pressure and he came at 9am. My apologies. Property Owner

“Absolutely disgusted, my wife is disabled and has to have a scooter, the owner of the property wouldn't let me recharge her scooter she stated "The charging scooter would explode and I would be responsible for killing everyone" her attitude was disgusting she also said" perhaps in future disabled people shouldn't book with sykes cottages" no where on the website stated I couldn't charge the scooter.”

The owner also contacted sykes to complain and we were threatened we would be asked to leave if I charged it again. I wouldn't recommend staying at this property and I will never book an holiday with sykes again

I was quite alarmed about trailing electrical flexes being trailed all over the pedestrian access carpark used by other guests which was an extremely high health and safety issue plus it rained and they were all left outside again causing concern. I did contact Sykes for advice and informed the guests accordingly. The nearest garage is just 5 minutes by car which the guests also had thier own access to. The new TV recently installed suffered through the over burdensome of electrical devices used by the guests and I had to buy a new TV for the guests use. I thoroughly enjoy assisting my guests with all advice and found that on this occasion my concerns were for health and safety issues out of my control. Property Owner

The seaside resort of Bridlington lies on the east coast of Yorkshire, south of Scarborough and Filey. Two award-winning beaches of golden sand stretch out on either side of the historic harbour, bustling with activity.
