“I can only say what a brilliant holiday we had at White Rose Cottage.”

We’ve stayed at Center Parcs the last 2 years and this house and holiday park are absolutely brilliant and all our family preferred this 100%. The cottage was brilliant, exactly like the pictures, but 2 things stood out. The kitchen had everything and more that we needed to cook lovely meals which made a massive difference, including a full size fridge/freezer. Also having Netflix made a huge difference. This is a beautiful area with an amazing beach and a lovely cottage to stay in. Thanks Helen for your great communication and a lovely holiday.

“A great cottage in a great location - as well as the facilities on site, the cottage is close to Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough so plenty of seaside resorts to choose from!”

The cottage is well equipped, warm and comfortable. The owners have clearly taken pride in furnishing the cottage to a high standard. Despite it being a terraced property, it was very quiet and made for a relaxing break. We would definitely stay here again.

Dishes and cooking tins all had to be washed before use. Nearly every glass was very dirty, kept using same ones. You enter and leave by patio doors but a very deep step, also to walk out or in to the property you have to go over a pebbled path that was on an incline, not very safe. “Hi Absolutely lovely.”

Just 2 minor things. Struggled with the cooker a little bit as no instructions but rang through to Helen and a gentleman quickly came round to show us how to use it. Other thing timetable out of date for swimming pool. Went there for 7 pm ie 7 til 8 pm on Friday 26th May but they were just closing which was a bit disappointing. However the weather was on our side and would not hesitate to stay at here again. Many thanks

During Covid we were advised to remove all instructions for appliances we will seek to get further advice from Sykes re this position. In the interim I’ll ensure all future guests are sent the link to the operating manuel. The pool times are adult swim 8.30 – 9.30 every day Monday & Friday 6pm – 7pm Then normal swimming is 9.30 – 12.45 then 2pm – 5.45 Gym open 8,30am till 8pm I can confirm that we will continue to offer complimentary unlimited visits to both the Swimming pool and gym during your stay at either one of our properties. Super cottage with so much in it that I wasn't expecting. Helen was lovely on the phone. Enjoyed use of the gym and swimming pool here. Daily trips to the beach were brilliant. Have never been to Filey before but won't be going to Devon, Cornwall or Wales after this trip. Uncrowded, safe beach which I could relax on. Loved this cottage and the site. “We had a absolutely fantastic time, my dogs loved the beach.”

Will deffinetly be booking again. Loved being able to go swimming too. The only thing that would makes this property better would be if the garden was enclosed for the dogs, but they got more walks so I think they were happy anyway. A good place to take your dogs if your hungry is Victoria Mill tea rooms in Bridlington. They are very dog friendly.

“We have just returned from a fantastic week's break at White Rose Cottage.”

It's a lovely property which is very well maintained, clean and has all your home from home needs. Having Netflix and also very good WiFi was another bonus. The Bay is a lovely resort and the onsite facilities are all very good...and also very close by to the cottage.! The beach is also beautiful. Spans for miles and we spent lots of time on it with our dog who loved it. Filey is 3 km away on the beach and makes for a great walk there and back. The owners were very helpful and sent us lots of information before hand so we knew what to expect. We would highly recommend White Rose Cottage and The Bay resort and will definitely be returning. The house was gorgeous, warm, and had everything you could possibly need for a short or lengthy stay. It was clean and spacious and would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay. Our only criticism is that the bed was very hard and we struggled to sleep. The house was fantastic but we really didn't sleep at all. A more comfortable bed would make us book this house time and time again.

“Very nice and well appointed house in a great location.”

The Cantrell heating is controlled by a locked hive system which meant we couldn’t increase the setting on cool nights, or turn on the towel rail to dry off our towels after showering. There isn’t a single light in the house which is bright enough to read by in the evening either, which could be easily rectified. Final niggle was that in supplying an abundance of kitchen utensils, crockery and gadgets to cater for an army, there was no cupboard space left for our own food supplies. These are minor issues, which I mention as having paid for a first class experience, it took the edge off. I fully expect to return next year and see the owner has taken steps to address the issues.

Our Hive system is preset according to the time of year. “The Bay is lovely, not crowded.”

Dog friendly pub, beach, swimming pool, park, tennis court, archery etc. It was nice walk to the beach, very scenic. Only one thing missing is a shop on site, there is a chemist which sells essentials such as milk and bread but we went in and they had sold out. Tesco is only 3 miles away though and there's a spa shop a mile away but sometimes you don't always want to take your car out. We stayed at White Rose Cottage, would recommend this Cottage to everyone. Weather was beautiful. This is our fourth visit to Filey. For somewhere different to eat and it is dog friendly, we would recommend Royal Oak pub, Hummanby, there's a soft play upstairs, park and lovely food. Overall we had a very nice holiday. on arrival the cottage was warm and clean a super welcome on a dull day, all the extras in the kitchen are a bonus, not what you get when you normally book let only accommodation, for example, extra crockery, a wide selection of glass wear, huge selection of oven wear and utensils, how often have you holidayed and not had enough utensils to even rustle up a full breakfast for four? all i needed was at white rose cottage. even a selection of melamine plates/bowls for outdoor use of for younger guests in your holiday party. and a slow cooker, throw it all in in the morning switch on, set off for a hike across the moors or a walk over Filey Brigg and its ready on your return. dishwasher and washer/dryer in kitchen also. the lounge area was light bright airy and very comfortably furnished. the bedrooms were comfortable with beautifully clean linen and towels provided. the second bedroom was more than adequate for our 14&12 yr. old for space and comfort, with beds different ends of the room to give them each space and their own storage & lamp. the bathroom had a good shower and large bath with constant hot water supply. a small well kept area outside patio doors to have a bbq and sit at the garden furniture. the free Wi-Fi coped with multiple devices connected at once. The Bay as a site is well kept. we used the pub for a drink but lots were having meals there they looked good. the swimming pool has long opening hours and the times we used it, it was clean and of a reasonable temperature. i consider a week at white rose cottage to be good value for money and we certainly were not dissapointed

The Bay was a ideal base to visit Scarborough and Whitby and was perfect if you had a dog as the Bay was so dog friendly everyone there at the time of year we went march had a dog and it was only a ten minute walk to a beach and your dog could go off lead on the walk to and on the beach.The insight leaisure centre was spotless and ideal for a swim and the steam and sauna rooms were lovely. Our son used the gym which was fully equipped. Will go again.

Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday, making an ideal place to stay for walkers and wildlife watchers at any time of the year. A real gem on the Yorkshire coast. A fishing town on the North East Coast, Filey has enjoyed a reputation of being a resort since Victorian times, set beside the magnificent Filey Bay, a long stretch of beautiful sand, with Filey Brigg and its shallow rockpools to the north. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and provides good bird watching and seawatching opportunities all year round. The 400 ft high Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay are home to over 250,000 seabirds in the summer. Gannets, kittiwakes, puffins, guillimots and razorbills all nest there. Gannets are regularly seen diving for fish in Filey Bay. The Brigg area is an ideal place to watch for common and rarer waders, seabirds and migrating warblers,finches and thrushes. As well as seabirds, seals and other marine life, such as porpoises dolphins and minke whales can be seen in the sea around the Brigg. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels. There is a small coble landing, a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated, crazy golf and candy floss. Also in Filey there is the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where common and rare waders and wildfowl can be seen as well as autumn gatherings of swallows, sand martins and house martins. Also there is Parish Wood (just off Sycamore Avenue) an unexpected gem that offers a wealth of wildlife. Willow warbler, chiffchaff, blackcap and tree sparrows breed there and a wide variety of other species are regularly seen such as great spotted woodpeckers and sparrow hawks. Parish Wood also provides shelter and food for a wide range of migrant bird species such as goldcrests, pied and spotted flycatchers, warblers, finches, thrushes and woodcocks. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where for family fun you can visit the Alpamare Waterpark, a waterpark unlike anything the UK has ever seen before, as well as plenty to explore and discover in this lovely area.
