“Lovely cottage in a lovely location.”

Loved looking out the French doors and watching the birds and sheep. On arrival it was lovely and warm, which was nice this time of year. The two risers and recliners chairs were a bonus to us as it made it easier for my elderly father to get up and out of the chair. If you go with children there are plenty of jigsaws, board games, lego and dvds. The only little thing I could suggest it could do with is a stand for the draining board and that's only because I prefer to wash up by hand instead ...

The two risers and recliners chairs were a bonus to us as it made it easier for my elderly father to get up and out of the chair. If you go with children there are plenty of jigsaws, board games, lego and dvds. The only little thing I could suggest it could do with is a stand for the draining board and that's only because I prefer to wash up by hand instead of using the dishwasher. The saucepan set could do with looking at as the nonstick coating is quite scratched on some of them. I will be booking this cottage again in the near future.

The property

Malton 3.5 miles.

This detached red brick bungalow is set amidst open farmland on the owner's mixed working farm, three and a half miles from the market town of Malton.

In a quiet, rural position, it is perfectly placed for a relaxing break, with easy access to wonderful countryside, the coast and the magnificent city of York.

With lovely views from all windows over the surrounding fields, there is a traditionally styled sitting room with a warming woodburning stove and a light and spacious modern kitchen, with a dining area to one end and French doors opening onto the rear patio.

Comfortably furnished with a welcoming feel, there is plenty of room to spread out in this pleasant holiday home.

Outside, are front and rear gardens, where guests can sit and enjoy the sunshine and in springtime, watch the lambs frolicking in the adjoining fields.

With a weekly market, the friendly and bustling town of Malton offers excellent amenities, with local inns, tea rooms, restaurants, art galleries and a superb renowned local butcher.

Ideal for walkers and cyclists, there is a good network of footpaths and quiet country lanes, whilst those less mobile will be delighted exploring the many nearby attractions, including the stately home of Castle Howard, Eden Camp War Museum, Flamingo Land and the popular seaside resorts of Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey.
