“Lovely clean,modern,well equipped property.”

Really enjoyed our stay.To be a bit picky,a radio would have been nice to have and the layout of the lounge made it a bit uncomfortable to relax and watch the TV.Our fault perhaps,but a small carton of milk would have been welcome.Overall though,a good choice.

Thank you for your suggestion on the addition of a radio in the cottage too. Whilst there is BBC Sounds available to listen to live on the smart TV, this is something we are considering adding for future guests. We don't advertise or include a welcome pack with the cottage, and the snacks we leave and the cakes Julie bakes, are as a "thank you" for choosing us rather than anything else. Unfortunately when we have left milk for guests historically, more often than not it has been left unused, due to peoples preferences or allergies, so felt it wise to stop. The layout of the lounge is a tricky one to answer, and one luckily we've not faced before. The cottage was built 1890c, and therefore we're restricted with its size and shape. We have tried our very best to give as much useable space, comfort and the "home from home" feel. Thanks again, and we really hope you managed to enjoy and explore the beautiful North Yorkshire area, and that you'll consider visiting again in the future. “Immaculate and has been the best stocked property we’ve stayed in.”

We arrived to a lovely cake and welcome note and the owners, Chris and Julie, couldn’t have been more helpful when we had a small issue with the tv. Would recommend for anyone wanting a quiet time away. Only downside was distance to find somewhere to eat, particularly the beginning of the week. But cooking facilities are so good within the cottage.

“The cottage was perfect and would be ideal for 2 adults and 2 children.”

our Grandson loved having the twin bedroom to himself. The cottage was well resourced with all essentials including some great board games. The cottage is close enough to Pickering which has lots of shops etc. It is ideally situated for anyone visiting Flamingo Land as we did. A very enjoyable stay. We will use Rye Cottage again. There was also a homemade Easter Cake awaiting us as well as a welcome card. Both were greatly appreciated.

“We have just returned from a great holiday in Rye cottage .”

We had all that we needed and more . The cottage was spotless very tasteful decor and in a very pretty area . The little village felt like a film set . It is central to a great many places .we had a day in Whitby a trip to Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall . A day in York with a visit to the Railway museum and York Minster a trip on the open top bus and much more . We used the park and ride from Monks cross to get to York . All in all a very successful week . The owner Chris is very pleasant and we also met some very friendly neighbours . Thank you Chris for a great stay in your lovely cottage .Dawn Bennett

“Very well presented and very clean.”

With the North York Moors and Howardian Hills AONB within easy reach, this cottage has been thoughtfully appointed for a family of four or walkers and cyclists keen to explore this spectacular region of England.

Two off-road parking spaces greet you on arrival, as well as a side patio with outdoor seating, ideal for relaxing with a cold beverage on summer evenings.

Step inside to find a homely sitting room with two cushioned sofas to sink into and watch the Smart TV, all by the warmth of the electric fire.

Moving through the cottage, farmhouse meets contemporary in the fully equipped kitchen, sure to please the family chef!

Helmsley is another must visit where Helmsley Arts Centre, the 900 year-old Helmsley Castle with a fascinating sculpture garden, and The Vinehouse Cafe at Helmsley walled Garden offer something for all tastes.

Beadlam Grange Farmshop and Tea Room is on your way and an excellent stop off for local produce.

The Beck Isle Museum is also well worth a visit, with its unique collection of black and white photography and displays of rural life. Walkers will be spoilt for choice by the rolling hills, valleys, rivers and abundant wildlife of the North York Moors, whilst the city of York and the Heritage Coast are just half an hour’s drive away. All in all, a wonderful setting for a relaxing holiday.
