“We had a delightful stay at Butter Cross Cottage.”

All the recommendations were very helpful, in particular the Leeds Arms pub and the fish & chip shop down the lane. We made use of all the newly acquired casserole dishes

The property

Perched in the heart of the bustling town of Scarborough, North Yorkshire, is this well-presented, semi-detached cottage, Butter Cross.

Enjoying a central location with access to three beautiful beaches and the stunning North York Moors National Park, Butter Cross is a wonderful base for a group or family of six.

Step directly into the living/dining room, where you can spend evenings catching up on your favourite TV shows.

Move into the kitchen and rustle up a feast utilising a range of appliances, including an electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and even a washing machine, so there’s no need to pack your whole wardrobe!

Take the evening outside to the enclosed courtyard, complete with a picnic bench suitable for alfresco dining.

As you while away the hours, look to catch some rest in the bedrooms, offering two kings, one with en-suite basin and WC, and a bunk room which is ideal for children.

Start the morning with a quick wash in the ground-floor shower room before heading into the town centre in search for breakfast goodies.

Pack up your beach bag and towels and head for the golden sands of the North Bay Beach or Scarborough Beach, where you can build sandcastles with the little ones or test your hand at some watersports, including kayaking and surfing.

On your way back home, pick up some traditional fish and chips or stop off at a local pub for some traditional grub.

Those looking to get their steps in can join the scenic Cleveland Way, offering the very best scenery of the North York Moors and Coast for over a 100 miles, or for a more gentle route, take on the 21.7 mile Cinder Track to Whitby?

For family days out, the picturesque town of Filey is home to the Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park, home to a range of exotic birds and animals, as well as the scenic Filey Brigg where you can walk along pure sandstone and limestone and take in the panoramic ocean views.

With plenty to fill your holiday itinerary, consider Butter Cross for your next North Yorkshire escape.
