“Fabulous house for a short break.”

The facilities were just as advertised and all of an excellent quality.Beds were very comfortable. Communication with the host was prompt and friendly. Ate twice at the Italian Tricol 5 minutes walk away where the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend The Old School house and hopefully we will visit again.

The property

The Old School House is set over two floors, bursting with character in the sunny seaside town of Scarborough.

Perfect for a family holiday in summer or a rambler's retreat in the colder months, you will be in the centre of the action, just a few minutes' walk from the coast and near to the North York Moors National Park.

Upon entering the property you will come to the sitting room first, furnished with two armchairs and a sofa, you can spread out in front of the TV and get the woodburner fired up on a chilly evening.

Continue into the dining room, across the original wood flooring, where you will spend many happy evenings together with a glass of wine and a delicious home-cooked meal, prepared in the kitchen in the next room.

Hosting all the appliances you'll need for some culinary magic, including a five-ring gas hob, you will love cooking at The Old School House.

Leading out of the kitchen, tucked in the corner you'll find a small sun trap balcony, just big enough for two on the bench seating, for a perfect moment in the evening sun at the end of the day.

Moving back through the property and up the stairs to the first floor, you will come to the two bedrooms - a double and a twin - as well as the large contemporary family bathroom, complete with a bath with a shower over and heated towel rail.

Scarborough is a lively town, bursting with activities for all ages, with a popular attraction being the Scarborough Castle which overlooks the town, with sheer drops to the sea and steeped in over 2,500 years of turbulent history ready for you to discover.

For sunny days you will have to get down to Alpamare Waterpark for an epic day with the kids, with water slides, heated outdoor pools, a wave pool and a children's water playground, it is sure to be a highlight of your stay.

Stay at The Old School House, and take advantage of its fantastic location being close to the beach, and spacious rooms, for a great holiday for all the family.
