Number Fifteen

First impressions where good clean well equipped kitchen nice welcome pack , the back garden is in need of attention grass not been cut in weeks if not months .

The slate could do with redoing . The living room curtains do not close together and are very thin . The mattresses were VERY soft and provided no support when sleeping . The views are stunning

Firstly It is a lovely house with lovely scenery And there was so much that was really well thought out and was very nice and comfy linen , towels , decor very good.

... A welcome package was left and a xmas tree set up which was nice but unfortunately there was a couple of things that let it down, what could have been 5 stars it dropped down to maybe a 2 or a 3 We were informed by the owner the day before we arrived that they have been having work done in the kitchen and unfortunately there was temporary lighting fitted as work wasnt finished It wasnt brilliant but it was ok , but once we arrived we did find in a cupboard a big pile of sawdust and all the cooking bowls were covered in it too which looked like it had come from the work they've been having done but obviously the cupboard wasnt checked before we arrived to make sure contents were clean etc... there was a pile of plaster board left outside the back door which looked really unsitely which was probably left over from the kitchen repairs ,we felt that should have been moved, as the garden looked like a building site , the freezer wasn't checked as there was still food in there from october probably from a previous guest There was saw dust in the washing machine grill , the tumble dryer still had fluff in the filter And lastly we were told we could use the log burner but the shed with the logs in was padlocked and we couldn't find the key anywhere , it was a shame as the living room got really cold as the sofa covered up the radiator so it was hard to get that room warm We did email the owner about the sawdust and the key but we never heard back from them and we do realise we were staying over Christmas and everyone is really busy but since coming back we still havent had no reply It didnt ruin our holiday but it was just very disappointing that there was alot of areas that wasnt checked before we arrived as this property has so much potential to be so much better and if they do iron out these problem areas it'll be a great place to stay but unfortunately the few bad points over shadowed what was good about it Also just a suggestion in the winter months if check in could possibly be about 3pm as at 4pm its gets really dark there and trying to get all the luggage in up the hill with limited light was a big struggle

15 was the perfect accommodation to view Storm Claudia. The home is very comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. I will definitely stay again - winter or summer.

Lovely accommodation in a wonderful spot, ideal to sit and watch the tide come in and out, close to local shops, accommodation was lovely and clean, log burner was great for a cosy evening, everything you could ask for

This is the third time we have stayed in this property.

The location is superb with easy access to the beach and within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. There was everything in the property that we needed. The beds were comfortable and two reception rooms worked well for us. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog.

Second time of staying and it's every bit as good as last year.

Just needs abit of a tidy up in garden area new bench. Shower head hard work to position. Would not stop us returning the views are brilliant and house very comfortable

Number 15 is a lovely home, the views are wonderful.

Excellent location. Very relaxing. Has everything you need, lovely clean, well kept property. Stairs are very steep. Slope up from road is really steep and gives you a good workout getting luggage to and from the car.

There are items that need attention.

Blinds at kitchen window .front wooden furniture unsafe. Panel in glass front door cracked. Small chair in lounge arm not secure. The slow cooker does not work. Cooker needed a good clean and oven pans. The fire door in lounge kept shutting for no reason. Saying all this we have booked again as the views and situation of the house is perfect. Oh a blind in bathroom as the sun blinds you most of the day.

Absolutely wonderful holiday home.

Wonderful location with fantastic views of the sea. The sunrise from the bed in a morning is unbelievable. Its just like a home from home for us. I have a couple of suggestions which would have made our stay perfect. A handrail at the top of the staircase would be useful as my mum struggled to get up the top two steps after a long climb up the very steep stairs. Also the option to push the single beds together and lock them in place in the 2nd bedroom would be great as I'm not used to sleeping in a single bed. Other than that it was perfect. We'll definitely rebook this wonderful holiday home.

A lovely long weekend away at number 15.

The welcome pack of goodies in the kitchen was warmly received especially as we arrived late without teabags or milk! Soap in the bathroom would have been lovely, we just moved it from the kitchen, and there are some spaces where some maintenance needs to be completed (stained ceiling in the kitchen) but this was minor and the view of the sea from the bedroom made up for everything! Very amusing moment when the fire doors shut themselves and we weren't expecting it which made myself and our 7-year-old jump. The instructions for how to use everything were very much appreciated and made using the tv, stove etc so much easier! Would definitely visit again.

The interior doors are quite heavy and could be difficult to open if someone is less able.

Even if kept open the fire safety measures allows the doors to close automatically. You may wish to mention this.

The welcome basket set the time for what was a lovely holiday. The house is gorgeous, with beautiful views of the sunrise over the sea. Close to the town. We had a wonderful time. I think it would be amazing in all weather's. My dog loved playing in the sea and it was right outside the door. Thank you so much.

The location right on the promenade was absolutely fantastic, we didn't use the car for the full week as everything was within way walking distance.

This is the second time I have stayed at number 15 It’s a lovely house right on the beach front with great access to everything The property is well kept, clean and tidy.

Booked a couple of nights here through Hotels.

com. The house is lovely & warm and had the most amazing sea views from the lounge & double bedroom. There were nice touches, like a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, biscuits & Prosecco, as well as the movement detecting plug-in lights which doubled as torches - really useful. There are plenty of pubs, takeaways, an Aldi & a massive amusement centre with bowling a few minutes walk away. Our dogs also loved walking on the beach when the tide was out. We had everything we needed, including a small back garden for our dogs, & would happily stay here again.

The house was well equipped, with everything we could need.

The position is fantastic, for watching and listening to the sea . We were able to walk along the beach most days. We would definitely book again.

Such a shame that the owners ignore you because we loved Number 15.

The house was great, well stocked and a wonderful location but when the fire door alarm went off at 1.30 in the morning and carried on for 36 hours our holiday was almost ruined! We made several phone calls to all the numbers supplied and got no reply we eventually took it upon ourselves to remove the batteries. On our return home after the holiday we received 2 messages 1 saying Laurette had a new phone number and 1 saying there was a fault with the fire doors! Sending this an hour after our check out was less than helpful! We would highly recommend Number 15 but beware if anything goes wrong you are on your own!

Just returned from number 15 & as before we couldn’t of asked for more, the house has everything you could need for your stay, the beds are comfy as are the sofas, this time the wood burner couldn’t be used but we were told in advance by the owner & it was I believe something out of their control & the heating is quite sufficient anyway so wouldn’t have used it.

Very relaxing break as we always have here in Withernsea & no doubt we will be back again in future, thank you to owners for lovely property & welcome pack, thanks from David, Tracey, Jake & Bon the dog

Yet again a brilliant stay at No 15.

The house is nice size , in a lovely position fantastic views of the sea, just a shame it's needs a good clean had to clean anything I used in kitchen first, I did send pictures to owner about how bad it was she was so sorry was going to have words with cleaner , but there was no pack telling you about the applicants (first Sykes house not to have one) had a job working out cooker the fire had a sticker across it because it was not safe to use.

settees in room gone very soft had a job to get up once you sat down,we still have a good holiday in withensea would stay at no 15 again if it had a bit of a spruce up

We had a lovely 2 week stay at no 15 was a lovely house, had everything provided just like being home from home, my only criticism was the steep stairs everytime you need the bathroom would have been better if there was a toilet on ground floor also.

Apart from that I don't have anything negative to say about this property lovely place to stay

The views over the sea and suntrapped garden are second to none ! Communication with the owner was brilliant. The house is fully equipped for a home from home stay , fantastic washing machine !! Only a couple of little points ,we found the settees a little low and a second bannister would have been helpful but that's due to our own health issues and maybe a downstairs toilet lol

much equipment! Bed lovely! Only little grip, sofa,s sink a lot, so could do with a frame under the cushions. The home was lovely otherwise, and the garden would be such a bonus when the weather picks up! It is in such a lovely location! Would definitely come again!

Wonderful property in an amazing location.

The front sitting room was okay, enjoyed using the log burner one cold afternoon.

The hall was cluttered with cleaning equipment near the coat hanging area. We didn't use the dining room. The kitchen needed a good deep clean, the sink in particular had not been bottomed. Was a lot of clut in the kitchen drawers, all the units were in a poor state, the drawers in particular not fitting very well. Also paint was bubbling off the ceiling below the bathroom. The front bedroom was comfortable, marvelous views of the sea. Didn't use the back bedroom. The bathroom was very clean and well equipped, looked recently refurbed. The back garden needed some TLC, not very well looked after.

Overall the property was good.

.stunning views, very well equipped,clean and comfortable...just a few pointers that I need to address....the entrance porch could do with a good clean out and the back garden was a bit overgrown and in need of some maintenance. Also some instructions on how to use the various appliances would be useful has not everyone is familiar with different makers products .....regards Audrey Rusby

Great base for a winter break.

Nice to be able to walk from the door with our two little dogs. The property was very warm and comfortable with great views out to sea.

Our second time at this property, Everything you need inside, well equipped kitchen and spacious dining room, plenty of wardrobe space and very clean tidy house, garden at back for dog to run around and lovely view of the sea right infront of you

Comfortable beds with nice bedding.

Parking not too far away, free and space always available. Close to town centre and good delivery service from takeaways. Having access to Netflix was a bonus.

We had a lovely stay at Number 15.

The place was perfect for us. The setting right on the front looking out to the sea was wonderful. Will definitely be returning. Only change I would suggest is make the access on first day earlier than 4pm. Seems quite late. Other than that it's perfect. Pete

Great property in a fabulous location.

The house is a lot bigger than expected and has everything you need, it felt like home straight away. The welcome pack is a nice touch, thank you. The local shops are within walking distance and having the sea across the road from the property is the main bonus to staying here! One thing that would be handy is small waste bins in the bedrooms. All in all a lovely house to stay in.

Just had a lovely relaxing stay at the beautiful and comfortable number 15 holiday home on the promenade in Withernsea, the home is so comfy and homely that I didn’t want to leave.

There is everything you could want in a holiday home and more as we were left a lovely welcome basket with some really yummy goods in, as advertised the shops, pubs and eateries are all within very close walking distance and the beach is literally across the road, I have to reluctantly highly recommend this place, (reluctantly as I would love to keep this gem of a place to myself) best break we’ve had for some time, thank you so much to the owners for thinking of everything you would need/like on holiday, Tracey, Jake, David & Bonnie the dog, hope to be back again soon

Well equipped and comfortable no complaints at all, televisions in the bedrooms would be nice and maybe information on places to visit in the local area.

It was great to be so close to the sea. The house was very comfortable, and the kitchen was very well equipped. We will definitely be back!

Everything you could need or want was available within the accommodation, on arrival the property was clean tidy and well presented with a beautiful well thought out welcome basket , in reality the accommodation exceeded our expectations from the original listing.

The position of the property was something to behold, to watch and listen to the sea every morning and evening really made the stay that much more special. With access to the beach, which provides miles of coastline, and plenty of areas where you can walk in almost seclusion unlike the majority of seaside holidays. Many hours were spent with the children and dogs making treasured memories. Withernsea centre is only a stones throw from the property but still far enough away to not be bothered by noise or crowds. The Golden Haddock was found to provide good quality sea side fish and chips, and Ellis cafe was great for breakfast and light dinners. Finally last but not least the owners, from all of our holiday cottage stays never have we know a more helpful and accommodating proprietor and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for letting us stay in their wonderful holiday let.

We had a enjoyable holiday thank you for the welcome pack and a neighbour sent us a book that was very kind of him the weather was kind to us as well Sun was shining but there was a bit of wind

Our stay at Number 15 exceeded our expectations in all respects.

We found the house very warm and comfortable, well furnished (very comfortable sofas and the best mattress we've ever experienced in many years of renting holiday cottages), a well-equipped kitchen with coffee machine (coffee provided in the lovely welcome pack) and spotlessly clean throughout. The house has been tastefully renovated and furnished and has a great TV package for those who can tear their eyes away from the front windows, where the sea is the main feature. The photographs of the property on the website are completely accurate - that view really is as good as it seems and it's only a shame that audio can't be added, because the sound of the sea from the house is wonderful. The owners are amazing - so helpful, especially when we had a problem (of our OWN making!) and clearly keen and anxious to ensure guests have a great stay. We DID have a great stay!

Superb location and the house has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

There was an issue with the heating which we had to contact the owner about but on both occasions this was promptly resolved. Would definitely visit again.

Fantastic location - couldn't ask for better.

No problem finding a parking space on the street either. Comfy bed, comfy sofas, really well equipped with crockery, cutlery and glasses. Doors and door stops no problem. Extremely responsive owner who couldn't have been nicer. We'd definitely stay there again. Only small comments; 1) curtains kept falling off curtain rail in the front room, and, 2) would've been lovely to have a king sized bed (doubles are small!) Zip-and-link twins would be great. Thanks so much, though. Would recommend to everyone.

Every internal door is a fire door with a self close hinge and a turn knob style handle.

This made it extremely difficult to open any door. It is therefore unsuitable for pets as digs do not have the freedom to walk between rooms. Also it would be difficult for children or anyone with anything other than an extremely strong grip to open the doors. I had to get my husband to help me on more than one occasion.

Would recommend number 15 Withernsea, lovely house, clean,comfortable,tea,milk & sugar, coffee & machine supplied, and a lovely bottle of prosecco in the fridge, fantastic view, loved sitting in chair in bay window watching the sea and boats.

or sitting outside on benches, enjoyed walks along the beach, lovely enclosed back garden with table and chairs, shops short walk to end of the street, lovely bakery in the town, had a fantastic relaxing holiday, just what was needed, would definitely book again.

Very comfortable accommodation, in a very nice location, a home from home, everything we needed.

We have been 4 times to this cottage in perhaps the last ?

15 months. It is excellent. I highly recommend it for adults, children and dogs. Although if you dont own a pet, you would not know any had been inx There are games and toys for children , teenagers /grown ups. You can see the sea, hear the sea, beach is lovely. I love it.

Number 15 is amazing, very amazing.

Straight across from the beach, you can even see the sea from your bed.Everything you could possibly need is contained in this house.It is absolutely spotless and very very comfy.The enclosed garden at the back is brilliant.We have been 3 times now and hoping to go again in 2 months if its not booked up.Its ideal for pets and children, yet if you dont have either, you wouldnt know that they had been in. No info about bin collection dates.

No instructions for operating the cooker or coffee maker either.House was lovely and heating and shower easy to deal with.

Not really, the weather could have been better but not much you could do about that!

Also, Withernsea itself looked a bit neglected which probably means we wouldn't go back there, although people were friendly enough. As for resteraunts, the Italian/Lebanese didn't have a drinks license and some of the pubs only served red or white wine, not a specific blend! All the pubs had multiple TV screens on permenantly with the exception of the 'Boat House', which was very good for real beer and real atmosphere. The overall comfort of pubs was poor with rotting carpet and sticky tables at some. However, the sea view was great and the surrounding countryside was very good.

Number 15 Withernsea is like home from home we’ve stayed there twice and hope to stay again in the future it’s so peaceful and the views are amazing

The house is perfect.

The front garden is ideal to watch the sea The enclosed garden at back is perfect for my little dog and to sit in peace .Kitchen brilliant with everything needed. Very cosy comfy warm house. We have been twice in recent months, because my son lives close by , my little grandkids were able to visit and they loved the toys. Close to pub, Withernsea is welcoming. Love the dishwasher. We will be going back very regular whenever its available. The visitor book says it all everybody loves it.

A home from home.

Everything you need for a great holiday is provided in this lovely house. Great views and close to all amenities. We used it as a base to visit family and will definitely book again.

The house was perfect , cosy and clean.

The pub is just a few yards away, but its a quiet one, which is good. We booked the cottage cos my son daughter in law and 3 little grandkids,moved to withernsea in June. I felt comfy to bring grandkids in and let them play with the toys. Seaviews were brilliant..Was brilliant for dogs, I have to say there was no sign that a dog had ever been in there apart from the dog bowls under sink.Definately going back again, cos my son just lives a shortish walk away. .

The grandsons loved been so near the sea.

overlooked the sea ,what a lovely position the house is.The place was spotless, everything you needed and more.The welcome pack was exceptional just what was needed on arrival. Jackie and Bill.

I found No 15 to be one of the cleanest and best equipped self-catering properties I have ever stayed in, and believe me I have stayed in a lot!

!. The location so close to the sea was also amazing and, given the weather over Easter, at times dramatic with crashing waves coming over the sea wall. It is a very special property given that one wakes up to only the sound of sea and sea gulls. I loved it and hope to return.
