“This is our third visit to Moorland House and we will be booking for next year.”

We love this place which is a home from home and it's location. So close to Peasholm Park and North Bay beach for the doggie walks and as a base for visiting the local area - Whitby is fantastic with so much to do. Found the Italian Gardens in South Bay this time and loved feeding the squirrels in the garden, especially the Rose Garden - they are so friendly you can actually give the nut to them and they sit and eat it near you then ready for the next one. If you want more action lots of Arcades on the South Bay front and the beach straight off the road. North Bay Fisheries is a great fish n chip shop just down the road from this property. Highly recommend this property, Scarborough and the owner Ryk who left a lovely welcome cake, milk and wine for your arrival - however as a diabetic did have to take an extra shot of insulin as it would have rude not to have a slice of the chocolate cake.

“What a wonderful place to stay.”

The house is in a perfect location, 2 minutes walk to Peasholm Park and 5 minutes to the beach. The property is so spacious and comfortable. There is plenty of parking on the road and parking permits are provided. We as a family thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and look forward to hopefully coming back again next year.

Location great, a short walk to the front. Super cafe/bar 5 mins away called Hideout. Pub food lovely at The Scarborough Arms recommended by the owner. House itself was super! Clean & very welcoming with fresh flowers & wine. The owner will provide extras if its an occasion for your stay. Would rent again.

“We had a great weekend in Moorland House.”

It felt very homely, welcoming and had everything we needed for a lovely time away. We have family in Scarborough and they came up to visit us. There was plenty of room to accommodate us all in the kitchen and dining room for a lovely catch up. The courtyard is really nice, unfortunately we didn’t get chance to sit out there because of the weather, but the little out house with the washing machine and dryer in was very handy. We had an issue with the bathroom door in that the handle was quite loose and nearly did come off while someone was in there. I left a note in the visitor’s book about it. The beds were lovely and comfy and the two bathrooms was a godsend with there being six of us. Close to Peasholm Park, town and the beach. Can not fault this house at all. The bottle of wine, cake and milk was a nice touch as well. We would stay here again and would definitely recommend to friends. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.

“This is our second visit to Moorland House and not our last, we have already rebooked.”

The house is clean, well-equipped and very cosy - home from home. The new tumble dryer is great. So close to North Bay and Peasholm Park certainly not much pavement pounding for the daily dog walks. Not too far to walk into South Bay either. The owner cannot do enough for his guests which is such a change as well as actually taking on board feedback as is apparent from the changes and additions. As a guest that is fantastic. Could not recommend this property and owner more.

“Moorland House is a clean and very well equipped property.”

The lovely welcome pack of wine, cake and milk was much appreciated. We had no problems parking outside the property each day. The area is surprisingly quiet, and the outside space to the back of the property is very secure, as we took our two dogs. Ideal for exploring Scarborough and the surrounding areas. My only negative was the lights in the living room were too bright to put on in the evening, and so was the lamp, so a softer light would be better to have a choice of lower lighting. We would definitely book Moorland House again.

Would have liked the instructions for the shower in cubicle and the bin schedule which was not listed in back of instruction booklet as stated.If you are travelling by train as we did then do not take one of the white taxis outside the station,quite expensive for such a short ride,all in all a very nice stay,recommended.

House well equipped and the owner has taken time and trouble to provide all info needed to include the quickest route to the Town centre which was so helpful. Parking permits provided in the house ready to use. Peasholm Park so close for walking the dog as is the beach only 5-10 mins away. Definitely recommend to anyone.

The house is beautiful well equipped with everything you need home from home. We didn't need anything at all. Also I left my dyson hairdryer and the cleaner found it and told Ryk the owner who then posted it back to me. This showed us there are honest and good people still about. Rest assured this house and owner and cleaners all 1st class. Thank you for a wonderful stay and your honesty and staff should be really proud of themselves. The location was superb, very short walk to either beach or shops, but very quiet well tended street. My only tiny criticism was all the knives were very blunt. We had to cut everything with the bread knife, but I could see from previous reviews that the owners are very quick to respond to such comments.

“The house could have been cleaner, the radiators were not clean at all, floors were dirty and the washroom was definitely somewhere not suitable to enter never mind to clean your clothes in was not pleasant at all, slugs were inside the house trails were found in the living room again this was not a pleasant experience.”

The shower room could have done with some shelving to put toiletries on etc .

The road it is on has pass only parking and scratch card style permits were provided - each scratch card lasts 2 days and enough were provided for 2 cars for the duration of the stay.

Moorland House is a stunning semi-detached cottage situated in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.

Ideally placed for exploring the North York Moors National Park and expansive coastline, situated less than a half a mile away.

Moorland House offers a superb place to relax and unwind of an evening.

Delight in the contemporary decorated sitting room, with plenty of furniture to curl up in and catch up on your favourite shows.
