“Fantastic family weekend away at Tennyson House.”

The house is very large and comfortably fit our 13 adults and 3 kids whether we were all together or in small groups in the different rooms. Very clean and tidy with all the appliances you’d need, a nice touch of having washing up liquid, washing machine and dishwasher tablets. Hot tub very clean, hot and you could even have a view of the TV. A few things to note, the off-road parking is a bit tight. If you’ve got larger cars you’d only only comfortably get 1 in but that’s no issues ...

If you’ve got larger cars you’d only only comfortably get 1 in but that’s no issues as passes are provided for parking on the street, a nice touch from the owners having discs for visiting other parts of Scarborough. There’s no downstairs toilet and the stairs are quite steep, so keep that in mind for any older family members. The WiFi was abit slow with everyone on it, unable to load Netflix on the tv. We had an issue with the central heating but someone was round within 5 minutes and all sorted. All these things were very minor and didn’t impact our stay, just something to keep in mind. Overall a very nice stay and a very attentive host who had great communication.

About the location

SCARBOROUGH

Pickering 17 miles; Whitby 20 miles; York 40 miles.

Popular since Victorian times, the vibrant seaside town of Scarborough retains many of its original fine buildings, parks and gardens, as well as its historic castle which overlooks the town. North Bay and South Bay provide two superb stretches of beautiful, golden sandy beaches, popular with families and small children. There are a number of child friendly activities and many excellent visitor attractions for grown-ups too, including the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough Spa and Scarborough Open Air Theatre for live music. Scarborough is a great location for outdoor activities, with golf courses, lovely coastal walks along the Cleveland Way, stunning cycle routes such as the old railway to Whitby, beautiful sailing and championship quality surfing. Add to this all the usual seaside entertainment and bustling promenades located close to the beach and Scarborough is the destination with something for everyone.
