“A masterclass in holiday accomodation.”
I fact, this design would suit us for a comfortable, compact retirement home.

Built of solid stone, with huge thick walls, designed to shrug off anything the coastal weather can throw at it, but remain warm and comfy inside, we experienced a night of severe weather during our stay. The high ceilings and rooflights make it feel light and spacious. With the one room living area having everything you need in a well designed layout. The bathroom was also light and spacious, with an excellent walk in shower. The bedroom at the end had no windows, but two large skylights above the bed, with sliding screens to cut out the light. We left them open, and could see the stars shining brightly, and twice saw meteors flash across the sky.
Proximity to all the sites, Whitby, Sandsend, Robin hoods bay, Boggle hole, Falling fosse waterfall made it an excellent base for exploring, even in the winter. Places like Goathland barely half an hour away, with Malyon Spout and moorland walking routes.
The residents dog paddock was great for the dog and the enclosed patio was great to keep the wind off.
Would we stay again? It's a matter of when, not if. One of the best places we've stayed in during our post retirement tours of the UK that has seen us visit from Berwick on Tweed in the north, to the isles of Scilly in the south.
