    “Lovely place only 2 things I didn’t like the mattress was stained and didn’t like to pay the extra 50 for the hot tub should be included in price as that was expensive.”

The property

Located on the working farm of Stepney Hill, in the seaside resort of Scarborough, is this semi-detached lodge, Kaitkyella Lodge.

Set over an open plan floor with a mezzanine bedroom, this property can sleep two guests (or up to five with the addition of a small folding double bed on the ground floor and a sofa bed) and is a romantic setting for your next getaway to the North Yorkshire coast, within easy reach of the North York Moors National Park and beautiful seaside towns such as Whitby.

There is off-road parking outside of the property, before you enter into an open-plan living space, with a kitchen to prepare any lunchtime picnics, a sitting area so you can flick on the TV and cosy up to escape from reality, while the dining table is the ideal spot for your morning coffee as you prepare for the day ahead.

Step through the large bi-fold doors to find a lawn and a patio with furniture to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining, or head down the steps to discover the hot tub, which has amazing views over the sheep-filled fields.

Freshen up in the spacious wet room-style bathroom, before climbing up the glass staircase to the king-size mezzanine bedroom, which is the perfect romantic escape when the evening draws to a close.

Kaitkyella Lodge is a tranquil base for a couple's retreat to the North Yorkshire coast.

Stepney Hill Farm

This working farm is surrounded by fields of grazing sheep, as well as an award-winning butcher's and a wedding function room, and on a clear night, you can enjoy an amazing stargazing experience. Venture into the centre of the bustling seaside resort of Scarborough to find a host of amenities, pubs, bars and restaurants, if you feel like dining out during your stay. There are two fantastic sandy beaches to choose from, separated by the imposing medieval Scarborough Castle, which rests in the headland and overlooks the sea, while the Japanese-inspired Peasholm Park provides a stunning backdrop for an afternoon stroll and if you're looking for adventure, spend a day at the water park of Alpamare UK. Explore the area via train by boarding the North Bay Heritage Railway or on foot by joining the Cleveland Way, which you can follow in either direction along the coast. Head north into the North York Moors National Park for more excellent walking and cycling trails, as well as the popular seaside resort of Whitby, while south takes you to Filey and the Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast, home to the RSPB Bempton Cliffs Seabird Centre and excellent for wildlife lovers. Stepney Hill Farm is a cosy base to return to after a day exploring the North Yorkshire coast.

Popular since Victorian times, the vibrant seaside town of Scarborough retains many of its original fine buildings, parks and gardens, as well as its historic castle which overlooks the town. North Bay and South Bay provide two superb stretches of beautiful, golden sandy beaches, popular with families and small children. There are a number of child friendly activities and many excellent visitor attractions for grown-ups too, including the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough Spa and Scarborough Open Air Theatre for live music.
