“Our third visit to Scalby and our first stay at Sanderling.”

A most comfortable and spacious bungalow, extremely well-equipped with modern bathroom facilities, new digital TV etc. Very quiet and peaceful and superbly located for bracing walks along the Cleveland Way and adjacent "cinder track". The Plough pub in the village offers exceptionally good food and honest Yorkshire ale. What is there not to like? Heartily recommend.

The property

Nestled on the outskirts of the bustling village of Scalby, close to the seaside town of Scarborough and the North York Moors National Park, is this superb ground-floor bungalow, named Sanderling after the wading bird commonly to be seen on the North Yorkshire Coast.

Inside, it has been renovated to provide a warm and welcoming base for friends and families seeking a seaside escape.

Entering the property, you will be greeted to a hallway where you can leave your coats and boots before entering this contemporary dwelling.

Look forward to relaxing and unwinding in the open-plan living space, with two sofas and an armchair to choose from; curl up with your loved ones and enjoy a family movie night.

There is a convenient dining area to gather for a delicious home-cooked meal over a well-deserved glass of wine, with the enclosed garden as your backdrop.

There is a fitted kitchen which houses all the appliances you could need to rustle up some lovely meals, with plenty of preparation space.

Once the evening draws to a close, retire to one of the two well-presented bedrooms, a double and twin, both of which have plenty of furnishings for storage space.

Delight in the family bathroom with an elegant bath and separate shower, so you can choose how best to prepare for your day.

Take a step out to the enclosed garden area with plenty of seating to enjoy the evening sun with a refreshing beverage.

The property rests on a quiet street outside the village of Scalby, with easy access into the centre for its lovely traditional pubs and restaurants, including The Plough.

A short walk away is the Cinder Track, a disused railway line which is used for cycling and walking.

The seaside town of Scarborough offers a range of tourist attractions that are a must-see, including the historic Scarborough Castle, dating back to the 12th century.

For the sport lovers among you, Scarborough North Cliff Golf Club is a short drive away and is perfect for enjoying a friendly game and exploring the landscaped grounds.

Also, Barons Health and Fitness Centre is less than a mile away.

Scarborough SEA LIFE aquarium is the perfect spot for you and your little ones to discover more about the exotic underwater creatures, whilst Peasholm Park is ideal for long walks with your pet.

A popular choice is always Scarborough Beach, which is ideal for an afternoon sunbathing, swimming, rock pooling or enjoying the beautiful scenery on a cliff top walk.

Return to Sanderling for a relaxing evening with your loved ones in front of the warm gas fire.
