“The flat is comfortable and well equipped.”

Arrival information given beforehand is clear and easy to follow. The parking space provided is a definite benefit. In addition to the flat itself being ideal for two, its location is great. Town, the promenade and South Bay are all within a short walk. During our stay there was very little noise within the building or from outside, ensuring a peaceful break.

“Brilliant position for a walk to the beach and town and bus station as we used the excellent bus service to Whitby.”

“The apartment was clean and basic, quite a few things we felt were missing to make it much better.”

No long mirror, no coat hooks, no bath mats either for in the bath or for the floor to get out on. No wifi , no microwave pots, not important for us but bathroom door wouldn’t lock, bed very comfortable, my husband uses text on the tv so he was disappointed that wasn’t available. After self catering for more than 20 years, we felt much could be done to make the apartment much better. But we had a good holiday.

“I am not normally one to leave reviews but after my stay ay the Carisbrooke House apartment I felt compelled to write a reveiw.”

My wife and I had booked the apartment over the bank holiday weekend as a break away and to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Apart from the great weather the apartment was absolutely fabulous and like a home from home. The apartment was well maintained and really clean and had all the essentials you would need for a stay away from home. The added bonus as mentioned in other reviews is the use of off road parking which enabled us to leave the car parked the whole weekend and explore the delights of Scarborough without having to think about parking. The owner Andy is a really nice chap who spent time going through all we needed to know about the property and also useful information about what to do in Scarborough plus where the local amenities could be found. All in all a totally enjoyable experience and stress free stay. We will defintley be comming back to visit and stay here again. Thank you Andy from Mike & kathryn

“Two negative issues - 1st the stairs please be aware the apartment is on 3rd floor; 2nd - No internet - would happliy have paid extra for use of internet.”

However lots of positives - Andy the owner couldnt have been more helpful or welcoming, apartment very well laid out, whilst the freezer is described as table top it has adequate space - no issue really. Parking space absolute bonus - proximity to all of the amenities Bars, Restaurants makes it easy to enjoy what Scarborough and local are offersoffers. Brlliant experence - thankyou.

“Carisbrooke House is ideally located to both town and beach.”

The apartment is nicely furnished, and kitchen has everything needed for a self catering stay. Andy provided the necessary information with regard to operating instructions re: heating, water, local hostileries etc during the key collection phone call. The parking space provided with this apartment is a real bonus. During our stay, the building was quiet and did not give us any cause for complaint. The building is an older property, and as such has character related to age. Care needs to be taken when walking through the communal garden in poor weather due to uneven steps (this is in keeping with the local area), however, it is only a short detour to walk round via the road. We would definitely stay here again.

“This is a lovely apartment with the benefit of it's own parking space.”

It was very comfortable and very near to the centre of Scarborough so you could just walk through the garden and in 10 minutes you are at the sea. We did have a problem with the washing machine but it was fixed within 2 days which was great. The owner Andy was very helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Overall a very enjoyable stay and if we go to Scarborough again, we will definitely try to stay here.

“We just enjoyed a very pleasant stay at this apartment.”

We were very clear from the listing as to what to expect and so we brought tea/coffee and our own wifi hotspot. There is also a washing machine provided but as we only stayed 3 nights we didn't need it, but it would be have been really handy if we'd stayed for longer. There's everything you could possibly need, it's very well kitted out and even has it's own off-road parking space! The whole place felt really cosy and homely, the pictures don't do it justice. The only downside I could see was the stairs. If you have mobility issues at all please be aware that there are a lot of stairs. It wasn't a huge deal to us though and is mentioned in the listing. Would we come back?- absolutely yes!

He even left us a bottle of Prosecco which we thought was a lovely gesture. The property is in a great location and has everything you need. The only improvements I would suggest are some hooks to hang coats, and also a larger mirror in the bedroom. Other than that we had a great stay.

Great location. Was great to relax here after a days outing. Found directions that Andy had left in folder were very helpful. Good for getting to top end of town. You needto be able to climb stairs - but once you are there , it is very comfortable indeed. Tried the "Cask" a couple of times. Cheap & cheerful. Good wifi & BT Sport. Would definately recommend.

“27709 is a basic apartment.”

It served our needs whilst staying there for a long weekend visiting family in the area but certainly not in the same class as other Sykes properties we have stayed in. After a 3 hour car journey and stairs up to the top of the property tea/coffee facilities would have been expected but there was no welcome at all Workmen arrived to undertake work in the bathroom on our departure date at 9 am this made our packing up quite difficult some notice of this intrusion should have been made previously We certainly wont be returning to Carisbrooke House

“The apartment was amazing, exceeded all expectations!”

The photographs on the website don't do it justice, the lounge area and bedroom were far larger than expected but still really cosy - like a home from home. The only criticism I have is that with some of the ceilings and beams being low and with me being quite tall, I did bang my head a few times. Aside from that everything was perfect, the location was remote enough for both me and my fiance (he proposed in the apartment!!) as there was a 5 minute shortcut straight to the south bay beach. I wouldn't recommend this apartment for older couples as it can put quite a strain on your legs walking everywhere, but if like us you enjoy being active and walking about you'll do just fine. The apartment provided facilities to suit all needs although I'm not sure what use a washing machine is if there is nowhere to dry clothes (luckily we brought enough of everything to last). Will definitely be re booking next year!

“Apartment 6 is the perfect flat for two.”

The location was close to Scarborough shopping centre and the seafront was about a ten minute walk away. Off road parking was a bonus with a small local shop as well as a pub around the corner. The flat itself was lovely, beautifully decorated, clean and with all we needed.The bed in particular was very comfortable, the best we have had away from home. It was surprisingly peaceful for a flat in a large house and town location and the owners were most helpful.

“Wonderful place to stay anytime of year!”

The apartment is lovely, newly renovated and decorated, the decor even managed to impress an errant Swede! It feels much larger on the inside than the photo's suggest despite the sloping roofs, and is a light, airy and comfy place to hang out. Very central in Scarborough and a few minutes walk to beach, but still quiet. Packed full of everything you might need for any kind of duration of stay. We would return!
