Vincent “On arriving at our accommodation we were over the moon it was Easter weekend and the house was themed on Easter with decorations of Easter and a lovely welcome pack for the children Easter eggs.”
The location was brilliant the house was big enough for all of us 5 adults and 2 children. If you are thinking of staying at this house you will not be disappointed.

Ann “The ideal holiday home it is clean & comfortable with just about everything you would need.”
It is in an excellent location just a step back from the front . This is our 2nd visit & would not hesitate to book again, & thank you to Yvonne for the lovely welcome pack.

Melanie “We had such a wonderful holiday and our host was amazing.”
We were a stones throw from the quay, that had a variety of different things to do and a great choice of pubs and restaurants. We didn't use our car all week and made the most of the local attractions. Even during the busy times at Scarborough, Quayside House was always peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of the town, which was unbelievable, as we were so close to it all. Quayside House, was beautiful and had everything that we needed. The house was spotless and felt very luxurious. We enjoyed it so much that none of us wanted to go home.
- Melanie, August 2024 -
Kathy “Very helpful with an early check in and parking permits.”
Maybe a few extra basics like salt pepper and tea towels but the welcome box very nice.

Elizabeth “Wonderful holiday at Quayside house.”

Alexander “I have been coming to Scarborough 30+ yrs and i can honestly say this is by far the best accommodation i have stayed at.”
..As a family of 9 we had ample room within the house. The house is well equipped and met all our needs ....The nearest shop is a hop and a skip away, I can honestly say we will be returning.... (It was lovely meeting Yvonne in the morning )

Robert “Quayside house is in a fantastic location for the beach, harbour, castle, local shops, dining options and entertainment.”
The house is roomy and gave lots of space for 4 adults and two children. The kitchen is well equipped and the rooms are all comfy. The quiet space at the back of the house to sit out in the sunshine was lovely. We all slept well in the comfy beds with lots of storage for our clothes and luggage. The car parking space in front of the house is a god send as parking in Scarborough can be difficult at busy times. There is a shop 10 seconds from the house selling essentials which was really useful and the nearest pub is the same distance, we didnt use it so cant comment on quality. More bars, cafés and ice cream are available just a few more steps away. We stayed local, but highly recommend RSPB Bempton, especially between May and July when the puffins are nesting. The castle had a great pirates event and the castle is free to visit for English Herritage members. Whitby is accessible by bus if you want to avoid driving as is Robinhoods bay. Falling Foss is a beautiful location for a walk and a treat at the cafe and Goathland is a short drive away to see where Harry Potter was filmed, see the steam trains and venture into the village to see where Heartbeat was filmed. You can go and see the Naval Warfare in Peasholm Park, swim at Alpamare or relax with a walk in the Italian gardens on the esplanade. With all this to do and a beautiful well equipped base to do it from, what's not to love? We can't wait to return!

Kimberley “Perfect location for South bay, clean, comfortably and well equipped house.”
Space for one car and scratch permit for other. We have stayed here before and can highly recommend it.

Susan “We had a fabulous holiday at Quayside house.”
The house is beautiful with lots of personal touches, and everything we needed for a home from home break. It’s in a perfect location, close to everything and after doing a big shop we didn’t use the car again all week. Yvonne is a great host and left us a lovely welcome hamper, which was very much appreciated. We are all more than happy to recommend this property to anyone looking for a home from home break, and hope to return in the future.
- Susan, April 2023 -
Karen “3rd visit to this property.”
Clean, comfortable and in perfect location. Good communication with owner. Could do with a new lock on the bathroom door but otherwise spot on. Hope to be back soon.
- Karen, March 2023 -
David “A very spacious, and modern cottage, as close as its possible to get to everything in South Bay.”
Want the pub ????? You can see it from the living room window. Want the Harbor ????? You can see the ships masts from the living room window. Thats how close the property is to everything. Contact with the owner was flawless, and we were made to feel very welcome. The house is a credit to its owner, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Scarborough.
- David, July 2022 -
Kathy “Lovely location with friendly neighbours.”
Parking is manageable if your car is not too big and second car parking with pass. Cheerful seaside decoration and plenty of room for 5 adults and 2 children. Ideal for the beach and arcades.
- Kathy, May 2022 -
Jennifer “Excellent cottage.”
Lovely location. Very comfortable.
- Jennifer, April 2022 -
Mary “Quayside House is a gorgeous holiday home in an excellent location, easily capable of accommodating 9 people.”
It is comfortable, very well equipped and close to all the amenities of a typical UK seaside town. It is also a good base for exploring the Yorkshire coast and moors. The owner is very helpful and will ensure that you have a perfect holiday.
- Mary, April 2022 -
Ron “A little gem of a cottage, immaculately presented, very close to all facilities, we will be booking again later this year.”
Parking is difficult for a larger car, this is not a complaint about Quayside Cottage, definitely a great pace to stay and enjoy Scarborough.
- Ron, March 2022 -
Sarah “This was our third visit & was a special birthday request from our now 5 year old.”
It really is the perfect place to stay in Scarborough - a warm, welcoming owner, a beautiful cottage, parking space, perfectly placed close to the beach, harbour, castle & shops. I mentioned our stay was to celebrate our son’s birthday and there was a birthday cake waiting for him, amongst other goodies, when we arrived- it made his day! Thank you so much, we had a fantastic time. The lovely weather was an added bonus too!
- Sarah, February 2022 -
Charles “Street parking was a bit of a lottery, but not a lot to be done about it if you want to stay close to property”
- Charles, August 2021 -
Mark “We had a wonderful week in Scarborough, and the house was a huge part of what made the holiday.”
The house is spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed. When we arrived there was a hamper waiting for us with the essentials which was a really nice and welcome gesture. The location of the house is incredible. You would be hard pressed to find a more central and convenient location. The house is one minute away from the shops and restaurants on the front. Considering how close we were to the front it was not noisy at all. Wonderful place to stay hopefully we will be back soon.
- Mark, August 2021 -
Jane “Perfect location.”
Beautiful property, truly was home from home.
- Jane, August 2021 -
Louise “Excellent location for all the seafront entertainment.”
A wonderful welcome box on arrival made us feel excited and ready to start our holidays.
- Louise, June 2021 -
Carl “What a beautiful house.”
Very clean and well decorated and furnished/equipped with everything you could possibly need. The location is perfect. I didn't use my car for days! The owner was pleasant and helpful and the welcome box was a nice touch.
- Carl, May 2021 -
Linda “The location was brilliant, everything exceeded expectations, the house was roomy and parking was possible on the drive.”
The only small thing that I could find fault with was the back double bed, which needed a soft mattress topper. Having rented holiday accommodation for many years in many different parts of Britain, I would rate this as the best of them all.
- Linda, May 2021 -
Victoria “House was lovely, really well fitted out plenty of room for you to not feel ontop of each other.”
We have a few teething troubles becuse the house had been shut away so long because of covid restrictions and they sorted them out fast and afficiently. Loved the games room, parking is tight so if you have a big car i would suggest getting the parking permit. The house is ideally situated to get to the harbour and beach and there is a one stop just a few steps away, its an absolute perfect location, its so near yet out of the way. Perfect holiday thanks for a lovely stay.
- Victoria, April 2021 -
Peter “Absolute gem of a cottage.”
4 double beds, and plenty of space! The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need. The location was perfect, nice and quiet yet still right in the middle of it all! Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to this cottage. Thanks so much.
- Peter, September 2020 -
Kimberley “Ideally situated for South Bay.”
Lovely house with all you could need. 3 generations stayed for a week, comfortable big beds, big bedrooms and we borrowed the travel cot and highchair. Owner was very helpful and we had a lovely welcome pack. The 2 front bedrooms might be a little noisy for light sleepers as the businesses in front do have to use noise trolleys for a short time first thing but only one person in our group heard them. The parking space was a little tight for our nissan qashqai but we squeezed in. Parking permit for A2 area given for the week was a bonus. Back courtyard was useful to dry beach towels and a nice surprise as no photos on here. Games room went down a treat and the lounge had comfy sofas. The house has constant warm water and was very warm. The only thing I would suggest is a slightly higher table and comfy chairs in kitchen, all men in our party were 6 foot or over and struggled to sit under the table, but we did eat out mostly so not major problem to us. Used cushions on chairs to help. Wi-Fi was a little hit and miss too, but unless you have teens that's not an issue. Us oldies can survive without that. We would stay here again if we came back to the South bay.
- Kimberley, September 2020 -
Denise “Perfect seaside holiday cottage with very helpful and accommodating owners.”
Location was so convenient but beware the parking arrangements. Read the small print on which parking areas are covered by the permits if you want to avoid a ticket!! This had been explained, so not the holiday cottage owners fault just the over-excited holiday makers mistake! Fascinating time watching the crabs and lobsters being landed on the quay and sorted for market. The cottage is very well equipped and you would fail to find something that wasn’t provided. The flexible accommodation worked very well for our 4 generation family and the welcome pack was a nice touch much appreciated.
- Denise, August 2020 -
Abbie “Quayside house was fantastic!”
We were looking forward to a holiday with friends (two families with children aged 6-13) and the house was perfect for us all. Downstairs provided plenty of space for dining and relaxing. Upstairs the bedrooms were lovely and comfortable with plenty of space for us all. Everything we needed was there from cooking utensils to a fishing net! We loved all the sea side decorations and finishing touches. We appreciated the welcome box of goodies too. The house is a minute from the sea front and ideally located for exploring up and down the coast too. We’d love to return sometime.
- Abbie, July 2020 -
Sarah “This was our 2nd time in Quayside House & we absolutely loved it, it was just what we all needed!”
Thank you so much!
- Sarah, July 2020 -
Sarah “A perfect place to stay!”
We loved it, it’s tucked away but very close to everything you need. The owner is lovely and the welcome pack was a nice surprise. Wi-Fi was an added unexpected bonus too :) We enjoyed it so much that we booked again within a few days of returning home!
- Sarah, July 2019 -

Debbie “Fantastic house in great location.”
House was so clean and decor was excellent- looked like it had just been decorated but it is always like this! There is all the equipment you would need. Constant hot water and a lovely bathroom. Comfy beds and bedding. Yvonne is so helpful and will ensure that everything is just right for her guests. I would definitely rate it 10/10
- Debbie, May 2019 -
Colin “Everything about quayside cottage was great, spacious, comfortable, the location was superb, the owner friendly and helpful, and the welcome pack just went that extra yard.”

Rebecca “We stayed at Quayside House as a party of 9, ages ranging from 4 months to 70 years old.”
Everyone had a fantastic time. The house is beautifully decorated and has all the facilities you could need (the games room was a huge hit!). There was plenty of space for everyone and the location was absolutely fantastic - a stones throw to the beach, a short walk into town! Just brilliant! The owners were extremely helpful and the welcome pack and birthday decoration were a wonderful bonus! We would definitely recommend this property!

Sarah “We loved every minute staying here.”
The accommodation was spacious, homely and clean. Everything we needed was provided and a welcome basket was a lovely touch. The decor was beautiful and the owner very helpful and easy to contact. It is so close to the front that it is just perfect for our family with young children. Scarborough is one of our favourite places and we will definitely be returning to this cottage. Definitely 5 stars

Vikki “Quayside house is lovely, it has everything you need and more - the attention to detail is fantastic,.”
It is so close to the sea front you can see the sea. We will definitely be back.
- Vikki, November 2016 -
Karen “Tasteful, modern, comfortable, spotlessly clean, with everything you need (and more) for a family break.”
Can't fault this holiday home. Parking was a bit of a pain as we had three cars between us and there is only room for one close to the property. However, we were given complimentary parking permits by the owner and were able to park about 10 minutes (uphill) walk away. As the location of the house is so great, we didn't use the cars all weekend so just needed to nip and change the permit each morning. The owner is friendly and helpful and the welcome hamper a nice touch. Had a great time and would definitely book again.
- Karen, September 2016 -

Maria “I loved absolutely everything about this holiday but the house was the icing on the cake.”
It was superbly furnished and very spacious with excellent décor. I also loved how close it was to the seafront promenade, only a street away but far enough away so as to not to hear the noise.
- Maria, July 2014 -

We were met and made to feel so welcome by the owner. The cottage was spotlessly clean, equipped with everything you might need for a very comfortable stay. The bedrooms were pure comfort. We had such a fun time in Scarborough, with plenty to do, but it was especially nice to get back to our holiday home. We highly recommend and look forward to coming back
- Adrian, February 2014 -
Julie “The house was beautifully decorated.”

Tiffany “The house was brilliant and met all our needs.”
It was big enough for all 9 of us and having the play room for the children was very, very handy indeed! Fabulous décor and location. The owner was very very helpful. We will be back!
- Tiffany, October 2013 -
Dee “We were made to feel very welcome by the owners, and would recommend staying at the Quayside House.”
The location was ideal for a family holiday. A bus stop almost outside the door to the next bay, the beach within a minute or two walk, and the main town just up the hill, so no need to use the car if you did not want to. The house was a great size with plenty of room for the family to spread out and relax.
- Dee, September 2013 -
R “When we arrived we received a very warm Yorkshire welcome from the owner.”
The property was immaculately presented, and had everything and more that we required for our weeks holiday. The location was great, quiet but very close to the harbour, beach, amusements, and the town centre is only a short walk away. As a keen walker I found the local bus service excellent as I was able to get the bus to Filey and Robin Hood's Bay, and then walk the Cleveland Way back to Scarborough from both.
- R, September 2013 -
Jennifer “I have rented sixteen holiday houses in the past few years, and this house would rank among the top three.”

House was better than advertised, there was plenty of room. I would recommend Quayside House.
- Lorna, July 2013 -

Sally “This house is absolutely stunning, with everything you could possibly need and more.”
It has been beautifully renovated and the rooms are tastefully decorated, light, clean and spacious. As a group of four mums and our children splitting the cost meant we could have an affordable holiday in a stunning accommodation. Will be recommending this outstanding house to all my friends.
