“The house was truly beautiful and the location was perfect.”
The owner had put up a Christmas tree which was a lovely touch. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the hot tub excellent. The kitchen was huge, we spent a lot of time in there!
A few things would have improved our stay:
A small welcome pack on arrival ie tea, coffee, milk, and more toilet rolls!
No downstairs toilet!!
The storage in the bedrooms. We had no wardrobe in our large bedroom, only a small set of drawers, so we had to hang our clothes on the back of.the door.
Another room only had a wardrobe and no drawers, while the wardrobe in another room was just a tallboy. If our stay was longer than 3 days, the lack of storage would have been an inconvenience.
The WiFi went down on the second day and despite the owner acknowledging and apologising, this couldn't be rectified during our stay (a slight inconvenience to a couple of the party)
On the whole, there were far more positives than negatives, but just a few extra touches would greatly improve the house
We are so pleased that you found the house to be beautiful and that the location was perfect. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback it is really helpful. On the matter of the welcome pack, we have taken this on board and are now working on a new type of welcome pack for our guests. We plan to bulk buy in the coming months and have as much prepared as possible. Due to the size of the house and the quality of the changeover we always endeavour to deliver time is constrained so having this prepped will be key. On the downstairs toilet the house is over 100 years old and we had of course wanted to accommodate a downstairs toilet but we are unable to do so due to the pipes and plumbing available. We will now ask the Sykes team to announce this more clearly in the details but thank you.
On the wardrobes, we continue to add items of the property ensuring it remains fresh and luxurious. Recently we added further paintings, mirrors, and furnishes as one example. Wardrobes is something that was on the list and post the busy festive period we will revisit this. The wifi was a provider issue and so was out of our hands but we know we worked to ensure you were all kept informed we are sorry for the inconvenience.
