Longstone Cottage

Andrea left us a wonderful welcome tray, much appreciated after our long drive from Norfolk.

The cottage was well equipped, clean and tidy. We were in the perfect location for nearby attractions.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage and would definitely return.

It's spacious, clean, and the views are spectacular. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and left a generous welcome hamper. Some minor points to help make stays even better. We'd highly recommend the owner looks into a new bed (probably a divan) for the master bedroom as it was quite uncomfortable and made a terrible noise at the slightest movement. We'd also recommend adding instructions to the house book re what to do if pressure drops on boiler as it's likely a common issue. It might also be worth updating the directions to the property by referencing the turning to Mickelby (if that's the correct place) as we struggled to locate the property with the current directions.

This cottage is in a wonderful, peaceful position, overlooking a quiet and scenic rural landscape.

The cottage was spacious, warm, and homely, and our hosts were welcoming and friendly. We were met with gifts of home made bread (still warm), jam, butter, fresh milk, orange juice, and white wine, which were all greatly appreciated and devoured. A gem of a cottage and excellent hosts.

Had a lovely stay at Longstone, host is lovely and super friendly, location is ideal for exploring the moors and the coast.

Think the Cottage would benefit from a boot/coat area and a bigger shower to fill the huge bathroom. Overall a really great stay, thankyou.

Peaceful location, very comfortable and cosy. We hope to visit again in future.

Andrea is a wonderful hostess and the cottage is so relaxing, open the door and there is open countryside, the dogs loved the freedom, there is plenty of room in the cottage, ideal for a quiet week or weekend.

There are any number of beaches, besides Whitby there’s Runswick bay, Sandsend, Staithes, Saltburn and many more, wonderful holiday

Beautiful scenery and views whether inside or outside the property. Inside it was an amazing space for the 5 of us, everyone got what they needed out of the holiday whether it was the 2 teenagers or parents in their 70s

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, our week at the cottage was perfect, granted we had the weather, but the welcome, the cottage itself and the surroundings are beautiful.

We made friends with the horses and so did the dogs, the lounge area is quite large and the beds are comfortable.all the facilities you could ask for in the kitchen are there and what a view from the windows. The whole holiday was magical and made by the cottage, sad to leave, but we shall return. Thank you Andrea, we’ll done Jo and Bob September 2023

just a couple of items 1 could do with a support handle in the bath area 2 the front step could be altered so irs not too much of a drop but overall we had a very enjoyable stay and Andrea was very pleasant and so were the horses and dogs

We really enjoyed our stay again. Everything you need is in the cottage The area is beautiful with Whitby close by. The dogs enjoyed running on the beach at sandsend too.

The cottage was amazing. Lovely decorated for Christmas. Andrea couldn’t do enough for me, such a nice lady. The location was just what I wanted, rural but close to everything. Beautiful views across the fields. Owner very friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed our stay would definitely come back. Close to Whitby and other locations. Ideal if want to be somewhere peaceful.

It is so beautiful. We had a lovely holiday and would like to thank the owners for the freedom given to our dog. He loved it having all that room to run about and explore. The welcome pack was very much appreciated and thank you for the consideration given. All in all a wonderful time in a beautiful surrounding.

We had a lovely Christmas stay thank you.

I would suggest that there is more than enough space for a separate shower in the bathroom. Climbing into a shower over the bath can be difficult for some people.

Excellent, cottage owners went over and above what they needed to do to make us welcome.

Beautiful cottage- very warm and cosy and exceptional clean - surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Host very welcoming and would definitely recommend.

Be aware if your an older person or not very good on your feet there are deep steps into the cottage and two of our party fell causing bruising

What a beautiful place to stay.

The best UK holiday ever. The welcome and hospitality from the owner throughout was amazing. Doggy paradise. We’ve booked again for next year.

Andrea is a fantastic host, and she made sure she checked in with us at convenient times and made sure we felt welcome.

The cottage was lovely and so are the surroundings, with deer and barn owls to be seen as it is so quiet up there. Runswick Bay and kettleness beach are quiet but beautiful. Whitby Town isn't far away and the best place to park was the co-op car park. We will certainly be looking to return as soon as we can!

We had a great break ,with our Dayghter,Soninlaw And 2 grandchildren.

They loved the horses in the next field. The cottage was wonderfull a real home from home, We took our motorcycle so we could tour the wonderful coast and countryside. The owners are very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. 5 stars from the Morgan family Book you wont be disappointed.

The whole family agreement was that after a day out it was great to get back to a warm and comfortable cottage.

The location and facilities were exactly what we wanted.

We were greeted by the owner and made very welcome when we arrived and I am 100% sure we will return. The location was excellent, with access to many walking routes and the seaside on your doorstep.

In a beautiful quiet valley with amazing views, ideal for doggie holidays.

Cottage nice and warm and cosy. Only 5 mins by car to Runswick bay where dogs can go on beach.

Everything was as I expected.

Views and staying on a working farm exceeded what I expected. Mrs Webster who owns the property was really nice and friendly. Her dogs were fun and friendly as well and I always felt my dogs were very welcome. I will be booking with you again for sure and I plan to hopefully stay at the same cottage in the future. The cottage was so happily sitting on the hill and views were magnificent.

The layout was great and all furniture very comfortable. We enjoy every minutes of our stay. The ovner welcomed us and recommended few good places to visit. The children enjoyed playing with so many games that we found in the cottage. They also enjoyed playing with the dogs. We will recommend this place to everyone and give excellent with merit for review. Thank you

Andrea met us when we arrived and was very pleasant.

We saw her from a distance on a couple of occasions, but didn't get to speak to her again. The cottage is in a lovely spot, very quiet and peaceful and we very much enjoyed our stay there. I would just say that some of the furnishings are looking a little tired, especially the large sofa, and we found the double bed a bit lumpy, nothing that a new mattress wouldn't solve. I don't know if Andrea knows, but one half of the four slice toaster is not working, which may make breakfast a little lengthy with a family of four. Other than that, if we decide to go back, we would choose to sleep in the two single beds, as we are used to a six foot bed and found the four foot six bed a bit tight.

Cottage could have been cleaner !

Cobwebs throughout and very dusty. Obviously not the owners priority to clean ! Woken early by dog barking outside door most mornings. Bbq rusty and so obviously not fit for purpose sitting area outside was a wooden bench that was rotting and plastic chairs. I accept it is on a farm but feel more effort could have been taken for the price paid. Certainly not value for money. No starter pack of fuel for log burner. Just a log !! Log burner had not even been cleaned out from last use !Feel very disappointed in the description given for the property feel it was not accurate. The best thing I could say about the cottage was it’s Peaceful location . Would definite not recommend

Absolutely fantastic cottage.

Owner very friendly. Such a beautiful setting and walking in we had the WOW factor. Rural enough for peace, quiet and quality family time and not too far from great beaches and everything you could need in Whitby. Lots to see and do, will be back for sure, we ran out of time

We got a very warm welcome when we arrived at Longstone Cottage, the surroundings were fantastic & it was 10 mins in the car to Runswick bay for a lovely stroll on the beach.

A lovely comfortable and well equiped cottage on a working farm situated perfectly between a number of interesting places to visit.

The owner went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. Very dog friendly. We will definately be visiting again.

Lots of lovely coves and villages along the coast to explore.

Cottage was comfortable and stylish in a nearby rural setting with horses, pets and wildlife on the doorstep. The owner, Andrea, was lovely and extremely helpful. All in all a great week!

Beautiful cottage and beautiful views , the cottage was fully equipped and very comfortable.

The log burner was great and we did use it everyday, the owner lives next door and welcomed us and gave us all the information we might need . We would consider returning as we had a lovey holiday.

it would recommend that they have a cornerd off aera for your own dogs they have got electric fencing for there horses .and it limits where your dog can go and get done .but had a great time

The location and spaciousness of the property were both great and it was a perfect environment (outside and in) for a dog.

Comfortable beds/big bathroom - slept really well! Very friendly relaxed atmosphere/owners. It would be helpful to mention in your description that there are two quite deep stone steps up to the front door and one small step inside the cottage between the bedrooms/bathroom and the living area. I took my elderly mother with me as the cottage is described as 'all ground floor' and she did manage with assistance but it wouldn't be suitable for someone who relied totally on a wheelchair.
