“The walk up to the front door was treacherous with badly maintained steps, also people should be aware that you cannot drive to the front of the property between 10am and 4pm to unload as baxtergate is closed!”
The general cleanliness was OK but it was tatty and major issue with the boiler for heating and hot water. The tap on the bath that was already mentioned in a previous review is still broken.

Thank you for your feedback.
Regarding the steps, these are original Whitby stone steps, and like many in the area, we are very limited in what we are permitted to alter due to the historic nature of the surroundings. We do, however, ensure they are kept as safe as possible within those constraints.
In relation to vehicle access, our listing clearly states, “Pay and Display car park nearby”. Baxtergate is subject to pedestrianisation restrictions between 10am and 4pm, which is managed by the local authority and unfortunately outside our control.
We apologise for the issue with the bath tap. Although it had been reported previously, it has now been fully repaired. The boiler pressure had also dropped, which caused the problem with heating and hot water, and this has also been rectified.
We pride ourselves on providing a comfortable stay for all guests, and we are always available to help with any issues during your visit. We appreciate you taking the time to share your comments
