“The holiday cottage is fabulous, great location and really well equipped.”

Only one complaint about the actual property being the bed mattress in both bedrooms is soooo uncomfortable. We tested both and in the end used the second duvet as a mattress topper, but still had sore hips and a bad back all week! There is a lot of flights of stars in the cottage, so you need to be pretty mobile to stay here. Our big complaint is that the property is advertised as having parking! Parking should mean having access to a dedicated parking space 24/7. This is why we chose this ...

This is why we chose this cottage. Be warned this cottage has NO parking! A permit is provided to park for 1 hour to load...if you can get a space. A scratch card provided allows you to park for 3 hours only, over half a mile away, again only if you can get a space! Obviously on Goth Weekend these are full, and unless you want to spend your whole holiday watching the clock and moving your car around town, you will need to find somewhere you can park unrestricted, Be prepared to walk a long way, never need access to your car, and never need to move it as you will loose the spot! This cottage should not be advertised as having parking, it is misrepresented. It has none, and should be advertised as such. It is a shame because the cottage itself is lovely, despite the uncomfortable beds!

The property

In the heart of Whitby, you will discover this characterful fisherman's cottage, only a short stroll away from the beach and even closer to the magnificent harbour.

For couples wanting to escape from the hustle and bustle or travellers wishing to explore the village and beyond, this retreat is the perfect blend of charm and modernised living.

A spacious open-plan living area is located on the lower ground floor, featuring a kitchen, a sofa for some well-deserved relaxation, and a dining table which centres the room.

The layout is nicely accessorised and will become a large heart-warming place to join the family after a long day.

For some quiet time, the next floor houses a cosy lounge, home to leather seating.

There is plenty of space to unwind here at Robins Nest.

The next stairway leads up to a family bathroom and a double bedroom laced in soothing colours, overlooked by traditional ceiling beams.

For more of this, the second bedroom is tucked away onto the top floor, elevated by vaulted beams with a dressing area, perfect for getting ready ahead of those daily adventures.

After relaxing indoors, why not pour a refreshing drink and head outside to the small courtyard where you can rest on the furniture and take in the pleasant location.

Whitby offers an excellent choice of pubs, restaurants and cafes, with its quaint cobbled market place, and beautiful harbour which is accessible as soon as you park up your car.

Children will enjoy the sandy beaches, complete with donkey rides and brightly painted beach huts, whilst the seafront Spa Pavilion Theatre hosts shows and films throughout the main season.

There are numerous attractions in the vicinity, including the market towns of Pickering and Helmsley and coastal villages, such as Staithes and Robin Hood's Bay.

This well-placed cottage promises a memorable getaway. This cottage is located in the heart of Whitby which means Sandsend, Saltwick and the Cleveland Way coastal path are all accessible.
