“We did enjoy our stay at Dotties Apartment in Whitby.”

The apartment is just across from Pannett Park where the Jurassic Garden is located and it is easy to get to the various sites to see and to enjoy in Whitby. The bed and couch are very comfortable and it was a surprise to have 2 television sets in the apartment. The shower was brilliant and was very good to use after having long walks along the Whitby cliffs. We really did enjoy our stay and it was such a good break to have with us having very hectic schedules to just relax.

“Some area’s weren’t as clean as expected.”

The outer rim on the external part of the shower cubicle was dirty as was the top of the flush for the toilet. In the kitchen the work tops hadn’t been wiped behind items on it. The kitchen is stocked with very few items required for cooking a meal but over stocked with other items. The beds were comfortable and bedding clean, however the towels were extremely hard and not adequate for showering fortunately we had taken our own. Whilst the corner seating in the living room was comfortable the 2 dining chairs were totally the wrong height for the table and more suitable for a bedroom. The bedroom with the Juliet balcony’s furniture was extremely disappointing, a bedside cabinet and an item that I have difficulty as describing as a wardrobe that was also dirty inside and out. This meant all clothing had to be stored in the other bedroom. Other than a vacuum and dustpan and brush there are no other cleaning materials nor a first aid box. Overall, though comfortable this was a disappointing stay for my first time using Sykes cottages.

The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and oven wear. It would be impossible to get anymore furniture in the bedroom with the Juliette balcony. The wardrobe that you referred to is a completely open unit, yes it's quirky but fully functional, we're confused as to how it could be dirty inside and out. The stools at the dining table are the same height as the bench. We have addressed your concerns regarding the cleanliness and also the hard towels with the cleaning company that we use.I have also asked them to check that the first aid box is in situ, if not ,to replace it. We're struggling to understand your comment on it not being as advertised. Property Owner

“Dotties apartment was excellent, everything you needed for your stay, beautifully decorated throughout and exceptionally clean.”

Perfect location opposite Pannett Park, within easy walking distance to the harbour. Only minor thing I would recommend is lighter duvets for the summer months, apart from that a truely lovely apartment which I would definitely recommend to family and friends.

“A very good property and great location, it definitely needs a welcome/information manual/book.”

Apart from this it was a great, we did have to work out Wi-Fi log-in from the router, where the bins were, what to do with the linen and towels etc. The location is brilliant, parking is pot luck but still easy enough. We weren’t sure how to buzz someone in, but would stay there again.

“We did have a problem turning the shower control handles, even without soapy hands, it was quite difficult.”

As it was too warm with the heavy duvets on the beds, we just used the duvet covers. Otherwise, all was lovely!

“This is a beautiful apartment with lovely little touches to make you feel welcome.”

Spotlessly clean throughout and everything was of good quality. Lovely location close to the town centre and beach a 15 walk away with a beautiful park nearby. Our little boy loves it. Would certainly use this apartment again and definitely recommend.

“Everything was beautiful and spotless and the welcome cake was very much appreciated.”

Nice to be overlooking the park and an easy walk into town. On street parking wasn't easy so once we patked we didnt move again. The only way I think it could be improved is to have a shelf in the bathroom by the window for our toiletry bags. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay in Whitby very much and would definitely recommend Dotties Apartment to our friends
